Singing Bee Honey: Thank you for the support of our farm! The inventory of honey is dwindling to a few small jars, but worry not, the girls are thriving and bringing in a lovely spring nectar. We will be releasing the spring harvest in the coming weeks. The wait will be worth it, I promise! We will also be releasing new products this year including bee pollen granules and wax products. You may also see some veggies pop up in our shop over the season because what goes better together than bees and gardens? We hope to bring you some interesting and different varieties than what you will see in the grocery stores, but we’ll also have crowd favorites. This week is spring turnip tops and cilantro.

Grumpy Goat:  Summer hours and Herdshare from Bair Trax

Well today finally feels like May. This beautiful weather definitely helps with our productivity. The garden is filling up quickly and market season is fast approaching.

I wanted to let you know a couple things. First off this coming week will be the last that we use the Winter Hours. Starting the following week with the 17th the Farm store will be fully open for in person shopping (as well as pre orders). We will be sticking with the same schedule as last year so it will be open for shopping Tuesday and Fridays 2-6:30pm and Saturdays 8-12 (we will be at the Sidney Farmers Market on Saturdays so it is set up completely self serve).

I also wanted to mention for those of you interested in herdshare opportunities with Bair Trax Dairy we will be having Annette come to the farm store on Tuesday the 17th at 6:00pm. She can explain everything you need to know about their operation. I am hoping that with a good number of interested folks that Annette will be able to to a milk drop off weekly on Tuesdays in the area – until then I am willing to pick up the milk when I go down on Tuesdays and we will have it available for pick up in the farm store.

So even if you aren’t sure about the herdshare, come on down, get some veggies, listen to Annette, and decide from there! No pressure.

Hope to see you all for our Summer Opening!!! And get your orders in for this last week of Winter hours. We have huge Pak Choi that need to be eaten now, lots of greens, delicious heads of winter wonderland lettuce, tons of cilantro, etc!!!

Miami County Locally Grown:  Plant an herb garden today!

Shop here

Since the rain has finally stopped (for now!) anybody want to get outside and plant a little salad/herb garden? If you have a small bed right outside your back door, say, you could plant lettuce starts, basil, dill, and Swiss chard, all of which we have available here at our local market.

Today is the last day to place orders for this Tuesday’s pickup. What a beautiful day!

GROWER & MARKET NOTES

Thank You

to everyone who came out to the annual Mother’s Day Open House today.

It was a beautiful day and it was lovely to see you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mother’s Day: Yes, we know not everyone who receives this newsletter is a mother, but you do have one! We hope you have sweet memories if you’re not able to appreciate her personally this year.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We are resuming our regular weekly schedule with Friday pickup this week. Right now the next scheduled Market break is July 2 – July 8. We may take off additional weeks late summer depending on how vegetables are holding up.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With this newsletter being drafted on Friday evening we don’t have an update on New and Relisted products for next week, so be sure to check the listings for your favorite items. You never know what you may find!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If you enjoy cooking videos or new ways of cooking familiar foods then Przepisy od Katarzyny might be for you.

Przepisy od Katarzyny is a youtube.com channel we learned about this week when a sweet sister shared this video:

Cabbage fritters
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PloaaxZkEas

So far the other vegetable videos I’ve watched are equally intriguing. Let us know if you try any!

We thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible!
