Champaign, OH:  Shelter From The Storm

When blackness was a virtue the road was full of mud
I came in from the wilderness, a creature void of form
Come in, she said
I’ll give ya shelter from the storm
And if I pass this way again, you can rest assured
I’ll always do my best for her, on that I give my word
In a world of steel-eyed death, and men who are fighting to be warm
Come in, she said
I’ll give ya shelter from the storm
Not a word was spoke between us, there was little risk involved
Everything up to that point had been left unresolved
Try imagining a place where it’s always safe and warm
Come in, she said
I’ll give ya shelter from the storm
I was burned out from exhaustion, buried in the hail
Poisoned in the bushes an’ blown out on the trail
Hunted like a crocodile, ravaged in the corn
Come in, she said
I’ll give ya shelter from the storm
Suddenly I turned around and she was standin’ there
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns
Come in, she said
I’ll give ya shelter from the storm
Now there’s a wall between us, somethin’ there’s been lost
I took too much for granted, I got my signals crossed
Just to think that it all began on an uneventful morn
Come in, she said
I’ll give ya shelter from the storm
Well, the deputy walks on hard nails and the preacher rides a mount
But nothing really matters much, it’s doom alone that counts
And the one-eyed undertaker, he blows a futile horn
Come in, she said
I’ll give ya shelter from the storm
I’ve heard newborn babies wailin’ like a mournin’ dove
And old men with broken teeth stranded without love
Do I understand your question, man, is it hopeless and forlorn
Come in, she said
I’ll give ya shelter from the storm
In a little hilltop village, they gambled for my clothes
I bargained for salvation and she gave me a lethal dose
I offered up my innocence I got repaid with scorn
Come in, she said
I’ll give ya shelter from the storm
Well, I’m livin’ in a foreign country but I’m bound to cross the line
Beauty walks a razor’s edge, someday I’ll make it mine
If I could only turn back the clock to when God and her were born
Come in, she said
I’ll give ya shelter from the storm…
(Shelter From The Storm-Bob Dylan)

So, here we are, and now more than ever, we are your shelter from the storm.

Today is Tuesday, the market will close it’s ordering, for the week, this evening at 10pm.

Your outpour, your love, the orders, the kind words, the new customers…your market manager has been moved to tears on several occasions.

I am going to go ahead and edit information on the market page such as pick up info. We have no idea how long this is going to last, and with all of the new customers, I don’t want any confusion of where the new pick up location will be.

PLEASE…let me know if you are more comfortable with us running it out to your car. All orders will be boxed, and ready, and easy to get you taken care of. If you are coming into the shop, we are allowing limited numbers at a time, and will be quick to get you ready and out the door.

You may pay in cash, check or call ahead with card information for pre-pay.

If you are paying with check, you will now need to make the checks out to Oakview Farm Meats, as we now need to change the payments to work with this independent market operation.

Let me now take this time to thank you, to give you so much love, and to urge you to take this song, it’s my favorite version from 05-03-76, and let it be our mantra…we are each other’s shelter…

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

Good morning everyone!

Thank you to everyone who ordered last week and helped us work through our new pick up procedure. Your health and well being is very important to us.

I encourage you to pay online if at all possible. For the next few weeks the market surcharge will be waived but you will still be charged the credit/debit card processing fee.

Leah Lou’s Cookies joins us online this week. She makes a variety of cookies and baked items that are sure to be a nice treat.

Coming soon – Beef and re-stocked pork products. Chicken will be back mid-April.

Our downtown businesses need our support as well during these uncertain times so we’ve provided the opportunity for our customers to purchase gift cards as a way to show your support. The gift cards can be used now or later and would make nice gifts.

Enjoy shopping for the most fresh food in the area. See you Saturday!

Winnsboro, TX:  Market is Open!

Stay well & rested, and join me in being grateful for a community who are capable, strong, & still working hard to take care of one another!

Champaign, OH:  Box Of Rain

Look out of any window
Any morning, any evening, any day
Maybe the sun is shining
Birds are winging or rain is falling from a heavy sky
What do you want me to do
To do for you to see you through?
For this is all a dream we dreamed
One afternoon long ago
Walk out of any doorway
Feel your way, feel your way like the day before
Maybe you’ll find direction
Around some corner where it’s been waiting to meet you
What do you want me to do
To watch for you while you were sleeping?
Then please don’t be surprised
When you find me dreaming too
Look into any eyes, you find by you
You can see clear to another day
Maybe been seen before
Through other eyes on other days while going home
What do you want me to do
To do for you to see you through?
It’s all a dream we dreamed
One afternoon long ago
Walk into splintered sunlight
Inch your way through dead dreams to another land
Maybe you’re tired and broken
Your tongue is twisted with words half spoken
And thoughts unclear
What do you want me to do
To do for you to see you through
A box of rain will ease the pain
And love will see you through
Just a box of rain
Wind and water
Believe it if you need it
If you don’t, just pass it on
Sun and shower
Wind and rain
In and out the window like a moth before a flame
And it’s just a box of rain
I don’t know who put it there
Believe it if you need it
Or leave it if you dare
And it’s just a box of rain
Or a ribbon for your hair
Such a long long time to be gone
And a short time to be there

(Box Of Rain-Grateful Dead)

Just filling your world with a bit of Grateful Dead…with a song that I find myself humming or singing when I am looking to be encouraged, or in times of stress or upset…

It calms, it reaches out, and it assures us that no matter what, we deal with it, we take what we need from that situation, and then you pass the love along…because someone always needs the love vibe.

As do we all in these days…just simple reminders that we are all in this, together, fighting the good fight.

Let our market continue on that path…let us keep the love flowing, by bringing our products, our vendors, and our commitment to you.

The market closes tomorrow evening, at 10pm…let us by your Box Of Rain…

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam
