Miami County Locally Grown: Watch the Buehler's on Channel 7 tonight!!
When I see Phil Buehler’s name pop up on the phone, I can always be sure he’ll have me smiling in short order – and I wasn’t disappointed this afternoon, when he called to let me know Channel 7 went out to his farm this morning and interviewed his son Matt for tonight’s 5:30 news!! Excited to check it out – so good for one of our long-time farming families!!

Martin's Farmstand: We are opening the farm stand on Monday May 11
We are opening the farm stand on Monday May 11 at 12:30 PM for the 2020 season. Note new farm stand hours which are Monday- Saturday from 12:30 PM till 6 PM. There are lots of garlic scallions out in our fields. Overwintered onion scallions are also almost ready. There is also a significant amount of young beets and swiss chard in the greenhouse all ready for harvest. Some of the overwintered spinach is also ready. Asparagus- not yet. The first spears are sitting half grown. I hope they do not freeze this weekend. With the weather forecast as it looks at the moment I am not really expecting asparagus till the late part of next week. We can not harvest what has not grown and we can not sell what was not harvested.
People need people and love in in there lives. This social distancing would not be a good long term life style. Daniel

Champaign, OH: Soulshine
When you can’t find the light
That got you through the cloudy days
When the stars ain’t shinin’ bright
You feel like you’ve lost you’re way
When the candlelight of home
Burns so very far away
Well, you got to let your soul shine
Just like my daddy used to say
He used to say soulshine
It’s better than sunshine
It’s better than moonshine
Damn sure better than rain
Hey, now people don’t mind
We all feel this way sometimes
You gotta let your soul shine, shine till the break of day…
(The Allman Brothers)
Your souls were all so bright, tonight, little local market of love customers!
Your manager is beyond tired, but so very heart happy at this market!
While I drift off to sleep, I am opening the market for the week!
Show us all the love!
XOXO,
Cosmic Pam
Miami County Locally Grown: Two more days to order!!
I hope everyone is able to find something to make them happy and enjoy the sunshine today in some way, however small… for me it’s been blooming apple trees and lilacs that smell heavenly, and remembering to picket the calves out of reach of the clothesline! Whew!
Make sure you enter the drawing to win one of THREE unique Mother’s Day Bouquets, made of wooden flowers – no wilting, no mess, just lovely!!
And don’t forget we’re closing this week on SATURDAY night – so if you’ve an order to get in, remember to place it by 9pm Saturday :-)
Be sure to check out the return of 6635 StudeBaker’s Napoletana Pizza Crusts!! Plus King’s Poultry has restocked several items as they work tirelessly to keep up with demand!
Many of the vendors are working thru price increases and supply challenges for everything from packaging and ingredients to seed and feed, but where there’s a will, there’s a way!
It’s never been more important for us to source as many of our ingredients and own groceries as we can from each other, and who isn’t excited with the (hopeful) approach of good growing weather that’ll bring on summer’s bounty!
Just the fact that we’ve had so much sunshine this Spring makes all the difference in the world to me, and my disposition ;-) Here’s hoping everyone is able to enjoy those glorious rays, whether on a walk, in the backyard, or thru the window doing dishes!
Happy Thursday!
