Champaign, OH:  It's Just A Bunch Of Hocus Pocus!

Not really…not here, not this market.

Although, I do feel this market possesses a bit of magic, with special wands, waving around, making it all happen, each and every week!

I started my Halloween movie watching, last night, and I am sure by the title of this weblog, you can guess which one I started with!

Are you all enjoying your Halloween movie lists that I handed out with your orders, last week? I hope so. I love sharing the very special feeling I get when it is close to Halloween.

Along with my Sunday dinner nostalgia vibe, driving into that driveway, Sunday night, and taking in the crisp air, suddenly, all the laughter of the West End, on trick or treat night, came rushing back to me.

The excitement over picking your costume. Deciding if it would be store bought, or homemade. Taking your costumes to elementary school for the hallway Halloween parades. Racing home from school, and eating a quick dinner, for us…it was usually some sort of hotdogs on that night. Quick, and easy, so we could get costumes on, and all of the parents could ready the candy bowls at front doors.

In the West End, and in my neighborhood, it was safe, and it was the 70s, so we all went out and about on our own. Running house to house, yelling to each other, ringing doorbells, stopping at my grandparents to get candy, while my grandfather told us to be careful and mind our manners…racing back home, to empty out our candy bags, or pillow cases, to trade off what we didn’t want, have hot chocolate, and usually watch a Halloween cartoon, on tv, to end the evening.

Great fun, memories lasting a lifetime, some scrapes and scars, still on me, of times I would fall in a yard, or on the street, not paying attention…lol

It was always the anticipation and planning of that fun evening. Just like the planning and anticipation, of this market, each week…

It is 7am, everyone, and the market closes at 8am…

Don’t be caught in the bewitching hour without an order…

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam
