Lathemtown Farm Fresh Market: This Week at the Market
This cold weather has taken a toll on the greens. Many leaves have not survived the icy nights even under frost cloth. I’m giving them a week or two to come back before picking. I have added arugula as that bed has enough for a picking.
I appreciate all the container returns! If I ever forget to give you credit on your order, do not hesitate to let me know you’ve returned a bag and I will add it to your account. I prefer dozen sized egg cartons, any size canning jars and rings/ lids, Tupperware type containers, foil tins, any grocery sacks including the wine type (good for soups!). I do not need any more odd shaped bottles or jars right now or the 18-24 egg cartons.
Thank you! Stay warm and dream of warm weather to come!

GFM : Never Forgotten
It has been a very stressful year for all of us with sickness or having family members ill or in the hospital. We at GFM want to wish the best for you and your family in this new year.
It has been a very difficult year for us personally at the market.
In December,we lost one of our own. Anne Vale of Cedar Ridge Farm passed away due to complications. She was a personal friend, who was also in every since of the word, my sister. She will be greatly missed. A long time vendor of the market, and a board member. She and Husband Paul have been supportive of this market since coming on board as vendors. Please continue to keep her husband Paul in your prayers as he really misses his life partner and wife Anne.
Gone but will never be forgotten.
Champaign, OH: I Can See Clearly Now
I can see clearly now, the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-shiny day
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-shiny day
I think I can make it now, the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is the rainbow I’ve been prayin’ for
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-shiny day
Look all around, there’s nothin’ but blue skies
Look straight ahead, nothin’ but blue skies
I can see clearly now, the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-shiny day
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-shiny day
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-shiny day
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-shiny day…
(Johnny Nash version)
Happy Monday, lovely market customers!
I had a busy weekend with catering, so I am getting back to sending out this lovely little market weblog to all of you!
This song…you know, I had a whole other direction I was going with, today. I was going to use The Long and Winding Road, to talk about the direction, twists and turns of the past 11 years, with this market’s humble beginnngs, and circle it around to also the past two years of being a long and winding road, bringing it around to how the market has played such a big part, in these last two years…
But, it just sounded more down, than up, and then I started humming a song that I have been humming since Thursday evening.
This song ended an episode of a series that I watch, and when it played, along with that last scene, I felt my mind lift, my body twirl around, and my mood instantly going into the grooviness of the vibe.
So, today, I’ve had the song turned up, while working, and I thought to myself, what a perfect song to sum up how I feel about this market, about you, and about how each week, I strive to deliver that bright sunshiney feeling to you, via your market orders.
Also, I would like to make an observation…after trying to place a pick up order for essentials, and not being able to get a spot until Thursday, and then after masking, gloving, and shielding up to make the trek to run into the big box store, to get my essentials, notice bare shelves, sticker shock on some items, and staff that was mostly tired, understaffed, and sort of not with it, probably due to the fatigue and understaffing, I got back into my car, rubbed myself in sanitizer, and headed home, thinking how this market, once again, is proving to be that bright spot…
We have product, we bring it to your car, our prices have all stayed about the same, and you get it all with a smile, a chat, a wave, and a laugh…
Also, it’s National Pizza Week, and we offer all that you need, to make it National Pizza Week, at your own house, via our market vendors and their amazing products!
It’s gonna be a bright, sun-shiny week! Put on those rose colored glasses, and sing this song, and dance, and clap…
XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

Fayetteville Farmers' Market: Online Orders NOW OPEN
Online Orders are OPEN! Close at 6am on Wed morning. Drive by pick up Thurs Jan 13 from 4:30-6:00 PM.
No more square markets until late March, but you can still support your local farmers and makers by ordering online.
Yes it’s winter and last week sure reminded us of that! Our growers hated to cancel some of the produce orders last week due to damage. However there still is a good selection of winter produce available this week including bok choi, carrots, cilantro, kale, other greens, lettuce mix, parsley, radishes, salad mix, chard, sweet potatoes (orange or white), and turnips.
TIP: If you see something you want but not much available, order and pay and then log back in and continue shopping.
PICKUP NOTE: Thanks for your patience last week when we were trying a different system during the bitter cold. This week weather looks good and we will go back to the sign in the window system.
Meats, eggs and cheese are all available—we are thankful for these year round products. Art, craft and personal care products are online too.
PICKUP TIME:
4:30pm to 6:00 pm on THURSDAY.
Order at:
https://fayettevillearkansas.locallygrown.net/market.
SNAP CUSTOMERS ONLY: you may choose pay at pickup and bring your card on Thursday. We will swipe and match as usual.
Produce growers will be adding throughout the order period so be sure to check back each day if you can’t find what you were looking for.
New customers and orders always welcome—no minimum order required.
TIPS:
1) Produce sellers OFTEN add more products on Monday or Tuesday in the ordering period, so be sure to check back. The product list changes each week, even from the same seller, so it’s worth exploring the categories you are interested in.
2) Multiple orders from you will be combined into one order before pickup.
PICKUP LOCATION AND PROCESS:
The OUTDOOR parking area at the south end of the new part of the Fayetteville Public Library. Approach on School Street and turn west into the outdoor parking lot (look for sign). Put your full name in your window (LARGE PRINT PLEASE) someone will meet you and direct you to a spot and your order will be brought out to you.
Thank you for your continued support of the online market.
Foothills Market: The Market is Open!
I don’t know about you, but the cold weather this week has made me crave a nice bowl of hot soup! Foothills Market can help you out with that! How about a hearty bean soup with rustic cornbread? Or maybe you would prefer a creamy butternut soup paired with a slice of spicy pumpkin bread. Or maybe you’d like to make a meatball soup with ground beef and kale (or collards). There are so many good combinations!
Browse the market between now and Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. We’ll have your order ready for pickup on Thursday afternoon.
Eat something fresh (and warm!) this week!
