Foothills Market:  Market Reminder

Just a reminder – Foothills Market is open until 5:00 this afternoon for ordering this week.

Miami County Locally Grown:  The Market is now open for ordering!

Thanks to all of the Market’s loyal customers for helping make my first Market without Jennifer’s oversight smooth-sailing! And also thank you to Brette of Grumpy Goat Experiment for her help tonight along with her yummy bagels and bread.

We’re sad to see Pumpkin Patch, with their delicious honey, take a break from the Market. Honey will still be available, now being sold by Grumpy Goat.

I look forward to seeing everyone next week!

Wedge Oak Farm:  Crowing about farm raised meats!

We are back at it this week and look to have a warmer time of it too.

We will be at Richland Park Farmers Market Saturday January 15th 10 – 12PM and can also have an order for you Wednesday between 2-4 at the WOF Shop in Lebanon.

Come see us either place. You can order online and pick up later. You may also shop on site at the farm and at Richland Park.

We will have bacon by the end of the week. The weather last week kept us from getting out and smoking those bellies.

See you soon-
order up…

Old99Farm Market:  Old 99 Farm, week of Jan 9 2022

We had the coldest night of the year so far, -16C and clear sky. Greenhouses did quite well thanks to the Underground Heating and Cooling system (UHCS for short). Inside temp was -2C at ground level. Crops can survive that especially when the soil is not frozen, soil temp was about 5C in the root zone.

So we have crops for you again this week, fresh harvested and from the cold cellar.
We have available celery, mixed greens (aka mesclun), spinach, chard, mustards, collards and a selection of fresh herbs. Root vegetables include carrots, garlic, leeks, fennel, potatoes, turnip, rutabaga, squash varieties, and beets. Of course the freezers are full of beef, pork and chicken, and the hens lay eggs every day
You can find us on the Weston A Price Foundation website too.

Here’s a picture of me putting the UHCS

The pipes are two layers deep going the full length of the house, giving 5 air changes an hour.

Click here to surf over and place your orders this week.

Healthy Eating!
