Lathemtown Farm Fresh Market:  This Week at the Market

Good morning from the farm! This is my favorite time of the year when we have a blank canvas to create our gardens. This year we will have more cut flowers with the added raised beds in the front pasture. This week we have a couple Iris bouquets for you!
Our vegetable beds are springing forth with life as this beautiful warm weather is coaxing them out. There’s red and green okra, beans, multiple varieties of squash, eggplant, carrots, peppers, beets, onions, tomatoes, kale, swiss chard and more coming to life!
Don’t forget to get a dozen eggs as the chickens are still laying prolifically!
If you are thinking about getting chicks, we have another batch hatching this morning! You can purchase on the site, and have your pick from the brooder when you pick up.
Have a great week!

Champaign, OH:  The Cosmic Birthday Surprise!

Well, it’s my birthday week, and while I love a good surprise, I thought maybe you like a little Cosmic magic surprise, even with me being injured. Here is the surprise that I came up with, to get you all the Cosmic goodness, until I am back in action…

I have added a Cosmic Surprise category to the market…

While I am injured, and out of commission, this surprise section will allow you to order some of my frozen breads/rolls and some of my frozen soups!

I always bake, and and make more soup than needed, each week, for the market, and the shop, just to flash freeze, and have on hand.

Both freeze, really well, and I am opening up my frozen bag of tricks, to get you by…

So, here we go…if you like to be surprised, this is your Cosmic way…

Yalaha, FL:  No Lettuce to speak of this week.

Market will be closed the last two weeks of May since I won’t be available to handle orders. But since we probably won’t have much available anyway… Not much point in setting it up for some one else to handle orders. The Very end of May I will re-assess produce availability and decide what I will have listed for the summer. We continue to grow Microgreens year round but most other things don’t like the heat.

Lettuce has already declined this season, I’m going to see if I can get it to make a comeback but we don’t have much at the moment.

I’ve added a new size for the Living Pea and Sunflower shoots. They are growing in the Pint size lids rather than those deep trays of dirt so I can offer them for a little less $. I have some available this week from my first trial grow in those containers. If I don’t get much interest I may not have them available regularly.

If anyone wants Regular Chives, I have those as well as little chive seedlings available. If there is demand I can list them for you. Also available but not listed are Dill seedlings and curly Parsley seedlings.

I’ve adjusted the regular ordering window a little bit to account for when we are packing up the Restaurant orders. So order now through Thursday 8am for Friday-Sunday pickup.

I may still be able to take orders after Thursday Morning but can’t guarantee availability of things as I may have already packed them for the Restaurants.
Ordering window is Monday Afternoon through Thursday Morning and pick up will be Friday-Sunday by appointment until we expand more, Please indicate when you would like to pick up when you place your order.

Remember to tell me when you want to pick up! (and if I don’t reply to confirm within a day, bump my e-mail or text me 407-342-8515. Though I have cleaned up my e-mail so hopefully I won’t Miss Anyone.)

Sign in to order. https://yalaha.locallygrown.net/market

You have to sign in to see the add to cart button. Then set the number and click the add to cart button on the items you want to buy (it is the little picture right next to the quantity box.) Remember you need to check out before your order will be placed.
Remember to let me know when you want to pick up on Sat or maybe even Friday late afternoon or on Sunday. (If I don’t send you an e-mail confirmation of your order and pick up time, please make sure you checked out and completed your order.)

Champaign, OH:  Love Is Alive

There’s something inside that’s making me crazy
I’ll try to keep it together…
(Gary Wright)

Good morning on this lovely Monday morning! And, wasn’t the weekend lovely, and sunny, and good for our souls?

I can tell you that because it’s all I’ve been able to do, after my baking accident, last Wednesday. I have a pile of books, on my front porch, with one of my Alexa devices, and on my back deck, I have magazines, and another Alexa. So, all weekend, I just went back and forth, reading, keeping my hand elevated, and listened to music. I enjoyed the sunshine, and the downtime to read, all the while feeling so out of commission.

This particular song popped on, at one point, and at once, I knew it was a great market song. First, my love for this little market, the vendors, and you, the customers, is so great, and each week brings me so much joy! It’s alive, always, in my heart.

Second…the love that I have felt, after my weblog on Thursday evening, with your emails, texts, private messages, and, on Saturday, a delivery of flowers along with a plant, have all touched me, so deeply, showing me that love really is alive and well out there.

It is Monday morning, and, as you know, I am totally out of commission until I go to my second appointment at the burn clinic, so see my progress, after another treatment. BUT, the market is ALIVE, not just with love, but with product, product, product!!!

You have until tomorrow morning, at 8am, to get those orders in!! I plan to be at the market pick up, on Thursday, just to say hello to each of you!!

My soul’s like a wheel that’s turnin’, my love is alive…for all of you, and for this market.

On a side note…this used to be one of my favorite albums, to throw on a turn table, at our middle school dances or parties, back in those lovely days of the 70s…

Go ahead…turn it up while you are placing your orders.

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

Miami County Locally Grown:  Spice mixes, lettuce starts, and veggie plants!

Shop here

We’re now open for the week. And make sure the Night Market on May 7th is on your calendar!

McGuffey Herb & Spice Co. has her items available again – yay! We’ve missed her delicious mixes, my personal favorite being the Normandy cheese dip. She is offering just one size of each mix, and there are recipes on the backs of the labels.

Simple Living Farm and Rosy Toes both have vegetable and herb plants for sale – a lot of interesting varieties – as well as Decker Indoor Farms with lettuce starts, so get your garden ready!
