CLG:  Tuesday reminder and VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Hi everyone!

Don’t forget to put in your orders for the week. Our friend from FareMarket is now bringing Serenity bread from Marshall! Don’t miss out. Also, Bar C will be out next week, so be sure to stock up on their meat products for 4th of July!!!

We are still in need of people who can volunteer from 2-6pm on Fridays. If you are interested, we put you on an email list that goes out every month to ask which Fridays you are available. Volunteers get $20 credit for the market. Even if you are only available one Friday a month, please consider volunteering, we can’t do it without you!!!

CLG:  OPENING BELL: cucumbers, blueberries, meat!

I hope you had a great weekend.

The market is now OPEN for orders. Click here to start shopping: *https://conway.locallygrown.net/market

Flying C is back with more meat. Be sure to check out their deals!

If you haven’t done so yet, please consider adding your credit card to your account so charges can be made automatically after you pick up on Friday (adjustments are made for any extras or shorts). This makes for a speedy check out process, and our life much easier too!

We will still be accepting cash, checks, and cards at the markets. Card transactions at the market will now be charged a 3% convenience charge (same as online) to cover the transaction costs.

Thank you so much for understanding and for your continued support of local growers! Don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Just a few reminders:
-if you order milk, select W/EXCHANGE if you are bringing a bottle back. Otherwise, select W/DEPOSIT
-tell your friends about CLG!

Most items are listed by 6 pm Sunday, but check back again before the market closes Tuesday night to see if any other items are ready to be harvested for you! Eat fresh! Eat local! Eat for better health!

Miami County Locally Grown:  Raspberry Season

Shop here

2022 is the fifth season for production at Chez Nous Farm. In 2018 a 30’ x 96’ greenhouse was built and 230 plants were started in five gallon grow bags. To put it lightly, the learning experience has been intense! I could ramble on for pages and pages about all the things I’ve learned, but your eyes would glaze over.

Suffice it to say, I’m busier than a one-armed paper hanger, HA. These perennial plants are reaching their peak viability and have greatly benefited this year from improved irrigation, added compost, and aggressive pruning. The first berries are coming on now in mid-June, and will go into the freezer for wholesale until there’s enough to have at least 12-15 fresh half pints (or equivalent pints) available weekly. The production is a bell curve over time, and the peak will be around late July. In the past four seasons, fresh berries have been available (in varying quantities) up through mid November.

Harvesting for MCLG takes place the day before market pickup, on Mondays. I am also considering having a limited, trial project of offering you-pick opportunities at the farm this year. Stay tuned to the blog for updates. Thank you to all my loyal customers!

Old99Farm Market:  Top reviewed documentary on Food

We’re losing quality soil. Here’s what that means…

Food that doesn’t taste as good An increase in diseases as our soil is stripped of vital nutrients Skyrocketing food prices And if we continue on this path, more hungry people.

But there is hope, and that’s exactly what the inspiring film, The Need To GROW, is about.

This week, for a limited time, you can watch The Need To GROW for free.

This moving documentary has won over a dozen awards at film festivals, including Winner of the Best Documentary, Audience Favorite, and Best Environmental Film.

It will touch your heart, give you hope, and inspire you to be part of the solution on planet Earth.

>> Click here to watch The Need To GROW. (Available free for a very limited time, June 13 to 19.)

P.S. If you’re concerned about climate change, this film is for you. The good news is, if we create enough healthy soil, it could pull much of the excess carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere! This is truly exciting, and the film shines a light on how that is possible.

Watch the whole movie now. (Free, for a limited time!)
