Market News: Last market in September – where did September go, seem that it has zoomed by us! Fall is definately in the air and several ‘live’ markets are closing BUT NOT US! Stones River Locally Grown Market is a year-round market with great ‘Growers’! Everyone that sells through the market is called a ‘Grower’, they either grow it, make it or produce it and it is local, within a 30 mile radius of Murfreesboro! Some of our Growers only sell a few items and others have several things to select from. We have a great assortment of items to offer our customers, from Art to Vegetables. Please share our news with your family and friends.

Emerald Acres: Assorted Cherry Tomatoes, Beautiful Dahlias and Sweet Pepper Mix.
Rainbow Hill Farm:
We have Gourmet Cabbage available, these are large heads 10-15 pounds! This is a sweet cabbage, great for kraut, slaw and cooking.
Reminder, this is the only time of year that you can get the freshest apples. Not refrigerated and ready to eat, dry or make sauce with them.
Ambrosia: apple variety with a mildly sweet and juicy flavor. Has a pink tinged flush over a yellow background.
Rome: Dark red. Mild flavor, somewhat sweet. Good for both cooking and eating fresh.
Honeycrisp: Pleasant sweet-tart flavor that varies in strength depending upon the maturity of the apple.
Jonagold: This apple is a cross of Jonathan and golden delicious. A tart flavor with some sweetness.
Mutsu: large green to yellow apple similar to yellow delicious. good cooking apple
Ozark Gold: Has Golden Delicious in its breeding. Flavor more tart.
Red Delicious:Sweet to taste, excellent in salads, apple sauce and apple butter.
Rhode Island Greening: An heirloom apple. Originated in Rhode Island during colonial days. Crisp and juicy with tart flavor similar to Granny Smith
Dogwood Valley Greenhouse: Several perennials to plant right now and brighten up your workspace or home with a beautiful Succulent Planter it is beautiful as a centerpiece or side table decoration, this planter contains a variety of seven succulent plants in a light sandy soilless mix that should support them well for a long time to come. Remember: don’t water succulents much – they’re a great houseplant for those who don’t like to fuss with houseplants! Soil surface of your planter is covered with small pebbles both as a decorative feature and to help hold moisture for the plants. This planter will also be a good hostess or housewarming gift.

Flying S Farms:

DELIVERY SERVICE:
We offer Delivery for $10 within a 10 mile radius of Murfreesboro, outside areas additional $1.00 per mile is added. If this is the first time you’ve requested delivery please put your address in the comments before you check out and any special instructions. An Invoice will be emailed to you that includes a $1.00 Invoice fee after your order is Delivered. Again, please make sure your email and address is current.
There is an additional $5.00 fee added if Delivery is requested AFTER MARKET HAS CLOSED ON MONDAY EVENING. This fee is so we can make arrangements with our Delivery Staff to prepare your order to be delivery.
The Market methods of Payment is Cash, Checks or Credit/Debit Cards, Invoice ($1.00 fee). Reminder, please make sure your email and address is current.

Valley View Farm & Garden has lots of pumpkins available. Decorate with them. Carve one and enter it in the contest at the Farmers’ Market of Tullahoma on Oct 31. Or make one into a pie. However you use it, you know you need a pumpkin!
Country Road Homestead still has some pumpkins of less common varieties: heirloom, Sugar Pie, white, and Artie’s Award-Winning bread.

A&A is back with great local apples!
Good selection of veggies! Be sure you check back. Our growers may be adding additional items later in the ordering period.
Special dietary needs? Check out gluten-free bakery goods plus easy to fix items from our local seitan maker. We speak from personal experience that all of these items are delicious and would please anyone no matter what their dietary needs are.
Local eggs available. Honey available. Meats available (including lamb, pork and chicken). Check out locally roasted coffee and local kombucha. Fresh tamales are delivered hot and fresh on Thursday just before pickup, so if you don’t feel like cooking on Thursday this is a great option. They will also keep fine in your frig until you are ready for them.
All of our bakers have GREAT variety right now—including sweet treats, cookies, pastries, breads and other goodies.
And don’t forget about our craft folks who sell online. Cards, wooden items, leather goods, art prints, and more.
SEARCHING TIP: On large categories such as baked goods, meats or vegetables, click on the category to get a drop down of specific items in that category.
HOW TO CHECK ITEMS FROM A PARTICULAR SELLER? Scroll down on left side until you see “show specific growers”. If all the boxes are checked, you can click on “reverse all” then click the boxes on or off of those sellers you want to see. Then click “show specific growers” again.
BUYING TIP: If you see items that you want but not much available, order and pay and then log back in and continue shopping. Your orders will be combined and you will only be charged once.
DELIVERY OPTION IS AVAILABLE FOR FAYETTEVILLE ZIP CODES BUT MUST BE REQUESTED WHEN YOU ORDER OR NO LATER THAN THURS 9 AM.
Last Week for Senior Coupons: Coupons can be used and matched online until they expire on September 30. Before you order, please reply to this email to let us know you want to do this.
SNAP CUSTOMERS ONLY: you may choose pay at pickup and bring your EBT card on Thursday. We will swipe your card and match up to $100 of your order. NOTE: please do not bring tokens or match cards to pickup at the online market.
NOTE: New customers and orders always welcome—no minimum order required, no weekly order required.
TIPS:
1) Sellers sometimes add more products later in the ordering period, so be sure to check back. The product list changes each week, even from the same seller, so it’s worth exploring the categories you are interested in.
2) Multiple orders from you at different times will be automatically combined into one order before pickup and you will only be charged once.
PICKUP LOCATION:
The OUTDOOR parking area at the south end of the new part of the Fayetteville Public Library. Follow the line of cars towards the building and stay in your car in line while we get your order.

Frontier Farms: WEEK ONE
Thanks for all that ordered last week, the testing was relatively painless. This week we are ordering through Tuesday morning and then pick up is on the square from 4:30 to 5:30. If you don’t pick up the order will be delivered to your address listed for when you signed up.

Foothills Market: The Market is Open!
Looking for a quick, healthy meal? Foothills Market has you covered! One of our favorites here on the farm is a skillet vegetable medley, with different vegetables, depending on what is in season. This week, we have summer squash, okra, peppers, and onions to slice and saute in olive oil. Maybe you’d like to toss in some tender Hakurei turnips, small potato slices, or even a few pieces of fresh green beans. Mix and match to suit your taste!
Browse the market between now and 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and click the button to place your order. We’ll have it ready for pickup on Thursday afternoon – just in time for supper!

There are still plenty of eggs available as well as a few fresh flowers. We have a variety of lettuces, microgreens, fresh shelled peas and a few peppers, especially if you like them spicy! Missing summer already? Jams and jellies capture those wonderful seasonal fruits and delicate flavors in a jar! Try Orange Ginger Marmalade from Pleasant View Farm or Vanilla White Peach jam from Michael’s Garden.
