Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!
PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m.
If you do not get an email ORDER CONFIRMATION right after you order then your order is NOT complete. Log back in and your order might still be there waiting for you to check out! If you have any trouble or questions at all, we are here to help; simply reply to this email.
COVID19: Thanks for recognizing we can all do our part in operating in the safest way possible. Be on the lookout for the order reminder email with any changes to pickup or ways you can help minimize risk for our volunteers and each other. Thanks for your support!*

GROWER & MARKET NOTES
This is our last bi-weekly order cycle before resuming a weekly schedule when Market opens on October 1. And since we’re speaking of October 1, please mark your calender that day for:
Dothan Nurseries Fall Festival
AVALON FARMS:
Thankfully all the fall transplants were in the ground before we got sick (mostly). We wondered why it was SO exhausting. Then the next day Wendy had 101 fever. They did get planted. Watered by way too much rain and ignored by the farmers. We’ll see what we get in a month.
Transplants consisted of: sprouting broccoli/broccolini, green cabbage, napa cabbage, kohlrabi, bok choi, semposi and other greens.
Direct seeded were: zucchini, yellow squash, zephyrs, cucumbers and green beans. Had intended to plant carrots, beets and radishes, but that hasn’t happened yet.
And now we know . . .
We thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible!

Martin's Farmstand: Honey
Hello,
It is almost autumn already. Tomatoes are at their peak. Most of the time we have a few boxes of canners packed and ready to go with no need to order ahead. We also have lots of yellow beans by the box or by the pound. We dug the first sweet potatoes today and carrots are abundant. Storage onions are cured and ready to bag. As we get to it we bag onions or you can fill a bag of whatever you like.
Peter extracted about 2,000 lbs of honey and today he left for PA with 97 of his hives. He hopes that the bees he has left up here winter well however he is spreading his risk by taking some of his hives to a warmer climate for the winter. He can also start making splits earlier in the spring down there and bring stronger hives up in the spring that can better use the early spring flowers. We have honey to sell now and if all goes well he should have bees to sell in the spring for those of you that wish to become beekeepers. Peter and Carl also still have several butcher hogs (organic feed, pasture raised) that are not spoken for. Daniel
