Champaign, OH: Burning Love
I’m just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love…
(Today’s song implant comes from our youngest market customer! Three year old Winston Cox! Alison…I hope I remembered his name, correctly!!!!)
Cutest market sighting, last night, was taking Alison’s order to her, while her son was in the back seat, in his car seat, telling me his song…Hunka, Hunka Burnin’ Love…just melt my heart!!
Ok…also, why not use this song to also talk about my love for this market, and you, the customers, and my vendors. Yesterday, for whatever reason, was challenging to say the least.
We didn’t get some of the lettuce, the milk didn’t arrive until after the market closed, we had vendors forgetting it was market day, and racing to get their orders delivered, and we had the craziness of our youngest egg vendors, singing, talking and coaxing their chickens to lay those last few eggs, and then racing into the drive to deliver.
And, while as a market manager, these are not ideal conditions to begin the market, it all was fine. We rearranged orders, we set up pick up times to get the milk to everyone, and through it all, each vendor, and myself, got through it with laughter, love, and understanding. Building these market bonds even stronger.
So, here is my love note to you…my hunk a burning love…
And, thank you, to all of the customers, who also took it all in stride…you are truly the best!
Now…get your orders in, and then go spread the love, today…
XOXO,
Cosmic Pam
Champaign, OH: Golden Slumbers
Once there was a way
To get back homeward
Once there was a way
To get back home
Sleep, pretty darling
Do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby
Golden slumbers
Fill your eyes
Smiles await you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling
Do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby
Once there was a way
To get back homeward
Once there was a way
To get back home
Sleep, pretty darling
Do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby…
(The Beatles)
Just a note, as your very tired market manager slips into slumber.
Thank you for being amazing, and I will write a note in depth blog, over the weekend!
The market is now open for a new week…
XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

And all of the places I ain’t ever been to but
Down in the valley with whiskey rivers
These are the places you will find me hidin’
These are the places I will always go…
(The Head and the Heart)
One of my favorite songs, perfect to add to a dinner playlist, as background music to your evenings in the kitchen…
Just a reminder that this evening is your market pick up night!! There are a lot of you, and you gave the market some really great love, this week!!
But, because I love a challenge, there will be no designated time slots!! 4pm-6pm!! Just pull all the way up to the greenhouse, and we will get you going as quickly as possible!!
If you are new, this week, the way you will speed up the process! You can call me, today, with your credit/debit card! You can present a check, already made out, to Oakview Farm Meats, OR…have exact change in a ziplock bag, with your name on it!!
This allows me to flow with the traffic line, without stopping to make change, or record your card number!
As always, we love you for loving this market!!
See you, this evening…
XOXO,
Cosmic Pam
Statesboro Market2Go: Market2Go Pickup!
MARKET PICKUP TOMORROW
Special Event This Week
Our Pop Up market this week will feature 4 & 20 Bakers, a popular vendor at our Saturday markets. Chad Montgomery will have his familiar food truck available during drive-through hours, 3:30 to 6:30, at the Statesboro Convention and Visitors Bureau. Chad will offer individual market combos online as “Pop Up Specials” at the 4 & 20 truck. (Specials include a pizza slice, a cupcake and fresh squeezed lemonade or two slices and a lemonade.) For more than a slice, “caw” or text 912-425-3612 to direct order whole pizzas for pickup. Chad will also offer free samples of his Take N Bake casseroles and meals. Market2Go orders for regular 4 & 20 catalog items will be handled as usual and brought to your vehicle.
When you visit the food truck, please wear your mask and observe social distancing.
Market2Go pickup in Statesboro is now at the Statesboro Convention and Visitors Bureau (SCVB) at 222 South Main Street. All pickups are on Thursday.
STATESBORO – THURSDAY Drive Through at SCVB starts at 3:30.
- Last names A – G 3:30 pm — 4:30 pm
- Last names H – N 4:30 pm — 5:30 pm
- Last names O – Z 5:30 pm — 6:30 pm
SYLVANIA – THURSDAY Pickup at Victory Gardens General Store
- All Sylvania customers 4:00 pm — 5:00 pm
Want to change your pickup time? The purpose of the time slots is to try to achieve an even flow so nobody has to wait too long. But we want this to be convenient for you: if you need to change your time slot or location, please text 912.481.2263, tell us the ORDER NAME and the TIME you would like to pick up. We will even assign you some “bonus time” if you need to come after 6:30. Just let us know so we can make sure your order is in the right place at the right time. Please do NOT come before 3:30 as this creates a traffic backup.
Remember! When you head out to your pickup location, be sure to take a mask, a placard with your order name(s), and appropriate containers for your food.
THE DRIVE-THROUGH PROCEDURE in Statesboro.
- Drive to the right (counter clockwise) all the way around the SCVB, keeping to the outer perimeter and maintaining a tight queue. A volunteer will check you in as you come around the far side of the building.
- Please display the name(s) for your order(s) on a windshield placard to assist in quick and safe check-in.
- Please wear a mask while communicating with market staff.
- Provide access to your vehicle and to the containers you want loaded (bags, boxes, bins or coolers); unlock the back door or the trunk, with containers inside.
- We recommend that you bring a cooler for transporting meat, dairy and perishable items. Ice cream melts, even in a short car trip, and our fresh non-homogenized milk is temperature sensitive.
- Wait in your car for the runner to come out with your order and load into your containers. Make sure your name placard is visible.
- If you did not prepay on line with a debit or credit card, please make a check for exact amount when your order is delivered. (You may pay cash in exact amount, but any “change” from cash received will be credited to your account. Use an envelope to label the cash payment with your order name.)
PICKUP for SYLVANIA CUSTOMERS.
Pickup is across the street from the Victory Gardens General Store. Please remain in your car until volunteers bring your order, and wear a mask when interacting with volunteers. We recommend that you bring a cooler for transporting meat, dairy and perishable items.
HOME DELIVERY CUSTOMERS.
Orders will be delivered between 2:00 and 5:00 by Boro Takeout. You will receive a notice when your driver is on the way. We recommend you leave a cooler at the front door (or your designated delivery location) to facilitate no-contact delivery and to keep perishable food safe.
EBT CUSTOMERS.
Right now we can scan EBT/SNAP cards only at the Statesboro pickup location. So, if you have ordered online with the intent to pay with your EBT card, you’ll need to come to the Statesboro Drive Through at the Convention and Visitors Bureau between 3:30 and 6:30. Email or text us in advance so we can calculate your bonus dollars and the amount to be charged to your card.
