Order now through 7 am Friday April 30th for April 30th-May 1st Pickup, or tell me when you want to pick up, we have flexibility, I just prefer to harvest early in the day so things are fresh and not all wilted so it is best to get your order in the day before you want to pick up.
We Are Flexible, TELL ME if you want to make special arrangements for produce, I am open and willing especially now. I just need to know the day before so I can harvest anything that needs early morning handling and I like to know when to expect people to show up.

Lathemtown Farm Fresh Market: Featured Vendors - Clean Mountain Mama
Good morning!
We are going to feature a different one of our farm vendors every week so you can get to know them and their products.
This week we have Clean Mountain Mama! Taree lives in the mountains of Jasper and is passionate about making an impact on people’s health and reducing an environmental footprint with our household cleaning supplies. She uses natural ingredients including scents using recycled containers. This week she has added a sampler pack so you can try a few products without purchasing a large size. It includes her most popular scent of Lemon Verbena laundry soap, fabric softener, and 3 dish pods. I use them myself! You can find all her products listed in the market. Also check her out on Facebook:

Have a great week!

Champaign, OH: Just About A Year Ago...
Just about a year ago, I set out on the road,
Seekin’ my fame and fortune, lookin’ for a pot of gold.
Things got bad, and things got worse, I guess you will know the tune.
Oh ! Lord, Stuck in Lodi again…
(CCR-Lodi)
Happy Monday, happy market ordering day, and happy song implant for the day!!
I was up, early, with coffee, watching the sunrise, making breakfast, and had Creedence Clearwater Revival as my morning music. I started humming this song, and it struck me that the first verse perfectly summed up this past year, the market, your support, and your love.
Here we are…we went from bad to worse to the pot of gold, of sorts.
Nothing makes me happier than to steer this market with all of you. Each and every week, my heart is full, as I watch orders flood in for each vendor. You make this local market family what it is…you all are the pot of gold.
This week, we also see the return of flowers!! Two of our floral vendors have listings, and I already ordered some of the beautiful apricot tulips that are listed from Flourish!
Kim’s Homestead also has beautiful planters listed, and some of her lovely gladiolus!
Also, the microgreens look lovely, along with the early radishes!
The market offer so much, so make sure to take advantage!!
XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

Market News
This is by far the busiest time of the year for our farmers. They’re out working in the fields weeding and harvesting the delicate spring veggies, trying to protect them from the daytime heat. It’s a challenge to give them enough cool water and shade to keep the greens crisp during the day when it’s 90 degrees in the afternoon, and it looks like we’ll be getting close to that already this week. At the same time, they’re putting in all the seedlings and seeds necessary to maintain a steady supply of summer veggies for the months ahead. They’re preparing beds, thinning seeds, watching over starts in the greenhouse, doing their best to keep bugs off the new growth, and doing what they can to shelter them from the cool night air. While doing all this, they’re going to the many farmers markets that are all now up and running. Some of them attend three or four markets a week, including ALG. Some of them even more. Wherever you might bump into your local farmers, please give them a thank you for all their hard work, especially this time of year. And I wouldn’t be surprised if the best thank yous come in the form of a cup of coffee.
Thank you so much for your support of Athens Locally Grown, all of our growers, local food, and our rights to eat it. You all are part of what makes Athens such a great area in which to live. We’ll see you at our market’s home on Tallassee Road!
We are still getting new customers every week (and we love seeing new masked faces!) so for all of you you can find a detailed run-down of how Thursdays go on our website here: https://athens.locallygrown.net/faq#7
Other Area Farmers Markets
If ALG doesn’t have everything you need, please support our growers at the other markets that are now back up and running, or at their own locations. The Comerian takes online orders for Saturday pickup at the bakery here: https://www.thecomerian.com/online-ordering. The Athens Farmers Market is holding their Saturday market once again in Bishop Park. They’re still operating under pandemic rules, so you’ll want to read up on all the changes on their website, http://athensfarmersmarket.net. The West Broad Farmers Market is back, holding a drive through market just like us (and using my software too, so it’ll be nice and familiar). You can join them at https://wbfm.locallygrown.net. The Culinary Kitchen of Athens has started a socially distanced winter market, Saturdays from 11am to 2pm at Hendershots on Prince. And of course Collective Harvest is going strong over at https://www.collectiveharvestathens.com.
All of these other markets are separate from ALG (including the Athens Farmers Market) but many growers sell at multiple markets. Please support your local farmers and food producers, where ever you’re able to do so!
We thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible!
