Foothills Market: The Market is Open!
One of the major items on Foothills Market this week is eggs. Whether you are looking for eggs to color or eggs to devil, our growers have both chicken and duck eggs.
What’s the difference, you ask? A duck egg is a little larger than a large chicken egg and has a larger, creamier yolk, perfect for deviled eggs. They also have sturdier shells, so they might stand up a little better to those egg hunts! Many of the eggs on our market are brown, but Sheepy Hollow also has eggs from a variety of different breeds, so the eggshells range from light, creamy brown to pastel green. Maybe you won’t even want to do dye colors!
We also have our regular fresh produce with early spring items such as lettuce and radishes for those Easter dinner salads.
Browse the market between now and Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. We’ll be back on our regular pickup schedule this week, so your order will be ready on Thursday between 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the east side of the courthouse square.
Eat something fresh this week!
The Wednesday Market: Place Your Orders Today and Tomorrow
Good afternoon.
The Wednesday Market is open for orders. Please place your order by 10 p.m. Monday. See the website for this week’s product offerings. Here is the link:

It’s time to get outside and enjoy this mild, sunny weather! What a welcome relief from the storms we had in the last few days. I wish we were at The Masters golf tournament today. The azaleas are in full bloom and the television screen doesn’t do them justice. Just once I’d like to go and see them in person.
Thank you for supporting Georgia Grown. We’ll see you at the Market this week.
Thanks,
Beverly
Berea Gardens: Here we go again! 2022 Market
Hello to all,
It is time to open the season for our Berea Gardens Drive-Through Farmer’s Market. It has been a typically challenging spring season here in WV with vast temperature swings and alternating wet and dry soils, but we are ready to get underway with some of our early maturing items. Lots more is growing and the selection will enlarge greatly in the coming weeks.
This week Bop & Nana’s Bakery will be here, Tom McColley will have some green onions, Melanie Degan will have eggs and Carol Houchin has local honey. Kenny Point is wrapping up his tax preparation business and will be joining us a little later. Circle S farms has a commitment this week, but will be here for the duration of the season starting the 20th with their natural, local meats.
We thank you all for making our little, isolated market such a success. Have a look at the Spring 2022 edition of “WV Living” magazine and find a nice article about us by Peter Krch!
We look forward to seeing you all again on Wednesday at the same pick-up hours from 4 to 6 PM.
Blessings,
Bob & Lynnita Gregory
Champaign, OH: April Come She Will
April, come she will
When streams are ripe and swelled with rain…
(Simon & Garfunkel)
One of my favorite songs to usher in the season by my favorite duo of music.
When I was growing up, in elementary school, we had a student music teacher who took over our music class, one spring.
To me, she was magic, and colorful, and wore super cool hippie dresses, and scarves, and she didn’t teach us the traditional music class. She introduced us to Simon and Garfunkel, and The Beach Boys, and The Beatles…you get the drift.
She would bring in her guitar, and play while we learned the songs to sing. She brought in a big, colorful carpet, and got rid of the rigid chairs that were placed in rows, and allowed us to all sit, casually, on the carpet. I was so sad when the school year had ended, and we had to say goodbye. But, after just one spring semester with her, she sent me on my musical journey, at a very young age. I hope that she brought that experience to other kids that she taught.
So, I bring to you, this song, and little story about my growing up, the spring, and to talk about this week being the week of Easter, and how this market can take care of so many of your Easter needs…
From food, to early spring vegetables, to breads, to pies, to sweets, to all of the ingredients needed in all of your Easter dishes. We have items to include in Easter baskets! We even have cute little dog treats to include in their Easter fun! We have so much to offer to make your Easter, a local Easter.
April…come she will…the month of blossoming, growth, reflecting back, looking forward…
XOXO,
Cosmic Pam
