The Wednesday Market:  Happy Easter from The Wednesday Market!

Good evening, and Happy Easter from The Wednesday Market.

The Market is open for orders. Please place your order by 10 p.m. Monday. Orders are ready for pick up between 2 and 4 p.m. Wednesday. Check the website for this week’s product offerings. Here is the link: https://wednesdaymarket.locallygrown.net/market

New farmers and producers are joining our market regularly. Please get to know them and their products. We encourage our customers to browse ALL the offerings. While we are sort of “in between” seasons for the next couple of weeks, there are still many products from which to choose. Cold crops such as spinach, broccoli, asparagus, chard, lettuces, and kale are still producing.
Eggs, dairy, meats, baked goods, live plants, micro greens and sprouts, honey, olive oil, bath and beauty products, and farm crafts are among the many items available through The Wednesday Market this week.

Thank you for supporting Georgia Grown. May you all have a glorious Easter, and we’ll see you at the Market.

Thanks,

Beverly

GROWER & MARKET NOTES

With this being the weekend we celebrate the Resurrection and new life we’re very aware that everyone is busy with plans/family/activities, etc. So this newsletter will be very brief! Several things to share:

1. Our vendors have been reminded to update their products but if they’re like many of you (and this editor) they may get to it . . . . whenever! So if you place an order over the weekend you may want to check back Monday or Tuesday in case anything has been added. Sometimes this happens normally anyway, but we’re especially aware of the possibility on holidays.

2. The vegetables are coming! Locally grown foods are seasonal and while tomatoes have little blooms right now, they are still some weeks out from being ready to eat.

3. WE APPRECIATE YOU SO MUCH! This market exists to serve you and we treasure the trust you continue to give us through life’s ups and downs.

We thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible!

Miami County Locally Grown:  Happy Easter!

We still have some Swiss chard, kale, and a few microgreens left for the week, as well as gelato and a lot of scrumptious baked goods.

I hope everyone has a peaceful and reverent Easter. As a friend of mine said recently, the first Good Friday was not a time of celebration, but rather of unimaginable grief. But the first Easter…can you imagine the wonder and amazement? Selah (think on that). I love that word – so beautiful.

Locally Grown STT:  The Market is Open!

The Market is Open!

Happy Saturday to all!

Wishing you a great Easter! Thanks everyone for supporting last week’s plant focused market pick up. We had a great time at the market. Let us know if you’d like to see more of that.

This week, our Plastics volunteer Laura is out of town so no plastics this week but will resume for collection following week. If you are new to the market, this is one of the benefits of membership, you can drop off your empty water bottles and plastics #1 to reduce plastic waste going to the landfill and into our ocean. Two of our members are part of a local recycling group that organizes to recycle some of our plastics on island.

Here are some items to look out for on the market this week!

Local Duck eggs
Collard greens
Red Russian Kale
Arugula
Bush Tea Bundles for making your own teas
Oregano seasonings
And more…

Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!

PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m.

If you do not get an email ORDER CONFIRMATION right after you order then your order is NOT complete. Log back in and your order might still be there waiting for you to check out! If you have any trouble or questions at all, we are here to help; simply reply to this email.

COVID19: Thanks for recognizing we can all do our part in operating in the safest way possible. Be on the lookout for the order reminder email with any changes to pickup or ways you can help minimize risk for our volunteers and each other. Thanks for your support!*
