Miami County Locally Grown: We're open!
Shop here
We have a new honey vendor – Mary’s Blessed Bees! Mary Toal lives with her husband on a chemical-free 20 acre homestead just outside of Sidney, Ohio.
Her bees forage from native forests and frequent her hay pasture with lots of clover. Having many Linden, or Basswood, trees in her woods provides an abundant, wonderfully-flavored light-colored honey in the late spring.
She offers her honey in one, two, and six pound containers. Mary feels it’s a blessing to be able to share her honey with friends and neighbors, and now with MCLG’s loyal customers!

Berea Gardens: Oops!
Howdy,
I get tired this time of year. Going strong for 6 days a week to get all this farming done takes a toll, and sometimes I lose track of time. Such was the case yesterday morning. I closed ordering for the market a full 24 hours early! I apologize.
So, for any of you that did not get your orders in I am reopening ordering until noon today, Tuesday.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
Bob

Lathemtown Farm Fresh Market: This Week at the Market
Squash is finally here! We have a steady flow now of green, golden and cue ball zucchini.
Next up should be the cucumbers – slicing and pickling varieties.
The okra is growing nicely and we should have plenty of green and my favorite – red in a few weeks! Another crop I can’t wait for is the cherry tomatoes. I have a “Champagne Bubbles” variety that looks to be quite good!
If you haven’t tried our Switchel – it is a delicious and hydrating beverage. It is now my favorite while working in this hot sun!
Look out for new soaps and herbal teas coming to the market soon!
Thanks again for all your container and jar returns! Remind me if I don’t issue your credit for your next order.
Have a great week!

Siloam Springs, AR: The Online Market is Open & Kids Day THIS Saturday!
Check out our great selection of local produce, meats, baked goods and crafts this summer! Also, it’s time for our second Kids Day this year, so check out the information below from Jesyka, our Kids Day Coordinator:
This Saturday is Kids Day! The Market is open 8am-12pm, with Kids Day from 9am-12pm.
Be sure to “RSVP” those kiddos for the 2022 POP Club!
What does Kids Day look like this year?
1. We brought back the 2 Bite Club! We will be preparing 2 Bite Club samples for each kiddo to taste a different fruit, veggie, or recipe each month, purchased straight from our SSFM Farmers.
2. Each month your kiddos will receive POP tokens to spend with our farmers on veggies and fruits!
3. We will have local non-profits set up with additional activities, just for kids.
4. This will continue to be a FREE and fun event brought to you by Simmons Foods and Arvest Bank!
To participate in this year’s POP Club all you need to do is login to your Locally Grown account (https://siloamsprings.locallygrown.net), click on the Kids Day tab, and add a “Kids Day RSVP” for each participating child to your cart, and check out! This will help us know how many kiddos plan to stop by during Kids Day (please remember that the program is set up for ages 3-12). Don’t forget, you’ll have to “RSVP” each month.
When you arrive at the market on Kids Day, head straight to the Outdoor Farmers Market Hub located in the Memorial Park concession stand from 9am-12pm to participate in POP Club activities. 2 Bite Club, POP tokens pick up, and all other information will be located at the concession stand.Your kiddos will earn their $2 tokens each Kids Day, then be able to shop the Outdoor Market, using their money to purchase fruits, vegetables, or a plant that produces fruit or vegetables. When you pick up your kits, be sure to peruse the market and check out the young entrepreneur Kids Day booths as well!
2022 Kids Days Calendar:

The Power of Produce (POP) Club provides a fun opportunity for children to engage in the local food system through conversations directly with farmers, educational games and demonstrations, and exposure to new fruits and vegetables. In addition to participating in educational activities, POP Club kids receive POP Club tokens to spend at the market, allowing them to make their own shopping decisions at the market. This program is set-up for ages 3-12.
