The Spa City Co-Op online market is now open for ordering at spacity.locallygrown.net. Please place your orders for Arkansas Natural Produce items BEFORE Monday at 9pm, and for all other items by Tuesday at 9pm.
Pick up your order this Friday, Nov 15th, between 3:00 and 4:30pm. If you cannot pick up, please arrange for a friend to do so for you.
And remember, we need volunteers to sort orders at the pickup, so have a look at the Volunteer Spot site by clicking on that button at the top of the marked page.

The Wednesday Market: Order Now; Start Planning for Thanksgiving
Good evening.
The Wednesday Market is open for orders. Please place your order by 10 p.m. Monday. Orders are ready for pick up between 2 and 4 p.m. Wednesday. See the website for this week’s product offerings. Here is the link: https://wednesdaymarket.locallygrown.net/market
Please note the shift in our pick up times – between 2 and 4 p.m. Since the switch back to Eastern Standard Time, it gets dark before 6 p.m. For the safety of our volunteers and customers, we would like to get finished at the Market before dark.
Please start making your plans for Thanksgiving, and consider ordering from our producers. You may want to order early to make sure you get what you need for your special celebration.
Here is a note from Terry Helms at Top Shelf: “I will be out of town next week, Nov. 11th, 12th, and 13th. I will be back open the week of Nov. 20th but will be out of town Thanksgiving week. If you think you are going to want anything for Thanksgiving please make sure you get your order in for the 20th. I can go ahead and freeze it for you if you like, just let me know. I can also pre-cook it for you to cut down your time Thanksgiving day; then, you only have to heat it up. Either way is fine. All you will need to do is put it in the fridge on Nov. 26th to thaw and it will be ready to cook on the 28th. Thank you so much for all your support and hope everyone has an awesome family holiday.”
Be sure to check out our new vendors. Thank you for supporting locally grown agriculture and for buying locally. We hope you have a great weekend, and we’ll see you at the Market.
Thanks,
Beverly

Market stays open from Fridays 9 p.m. until at least 9 p.m. Mondays!
Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!
PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m.
If you do not get an email ORDER CONFIRMATION right after you order then your order is NOT complete. Log back in and your order might still be there waiting for you to check out! If you have any trouble or questions at all, we are here to help; simply reply to this email or call Andrew at 770.530.3287
Holiday schedule: Open every week. Closed Christmas Day and New Years Day.
Statesboro Market2Go: Market2Go is Open!
Thanks for shopping with us! All of our products are grown by local farmers in Bulloch and nearby counties.
This week, we have the first of the season satsumas – fresh locally grown Georgia citrus from Franklin Farms!
We also have pomegranates, cabbage, green beans, broccoli, Red Hull Javey peas, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, blueberries, squash, zucchini, pumpkins, herbs, honey, eggs, coffee, bread, grits, cornmeal, milk, butter, cheese, seafood, wild caught Georgia shrimp, local pastured chicken, beef, pork, candles, soaps, lotions, as well as full meals and goodies that are already prepared and ready to eat.
Bootleg Farm and Southern Swiss Dairy both have their delicious products online on Market2Go. They are no longer regulars at the Saturday Market, so look for them here online!
No more membership fees! To maintain support for the market, we add a surcharge of 7% on each order.
Our featured vendor this week is Azure’s Gourmet & Sweets, who started selling her delicious sweets at the market in Spring of 2012. That following year, Paula Deen opened the door for her cooking career. Since then, she has gotten calls from Shark Tank, been “tweeted” by Southern Living for her Derby Cake Pops, had her Pecan Pralines featured on the Pottery Barn Blog, and taught classes at William Sonoma in Savannah. You can find her products at the Saturday Main Street Farmers Market.
Our featured sponsor this week is the Downtown Statesboro Development Authority, who is committed to the economic development, historic preservation, and beautification of Statesboro’s downtown area. Their purpose is to revitalize downtown economically and socially within the context of historic preservation by increasing financial viability and ensuring the success of businesses.
CLG: Location change. CLG pick up today 3:30 PM until 6 PM.
Good morning!
We will be meeting in the lobby today instead of the parish hall. Who knows what goodies you’ll find on the extras table today. I know there will be some suet cakes for the backyard birds…
This is a pickup reminder for those of you who ordered this week. Thank you for your order! You can pick up your order from 3:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. today at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at 925 Mitchell Street in Conway.
If something comes up that you cannot personally pick up your order today, please contact someone to pick up for you.
Remember to bring your EGGSHELLS, glass jars for recycling, egg cartons, and bags for ordered items. Reduce, reuse, recycle! See you this afternoon.
Come early for the best selection from the EXTRAS table! Even if you didn’t make an order, you can come by to shop the EXTRAS table.

Spa City Local Farm Market Co-op: Food for thought
Dear Spa City Co-op Members,
Lest we forget that in modern times, our food system is complex and often wasteful. Here’s an article that addresses that issue:
https://www.mnn.com/earth-matters/energy/stories/look-path-your-food-takes-get-your-plate?utm_source=Weekly+Newsletter&utm_campaign=a87d5b468a-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_FRI1108_2019&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_fcbff2e256-a87d5b468a-40275741
Remember that local farmer’s markets, like SCC and the market downtown bring fresh food and help make the supply of food more secure. We help sustain the farmers of Arkansas every time we order or buy from them, and they in turn are there for us.
The Spa City Co-op market opens this Saturday at 9 am. This will be the last market before Thanksgiving.
