Grumpy Goat: Out Planting Has Begun
This is just a quick reminder that the market is now open for orders! Please order by Thursday night if you would like to pick up at Vin&Joy on Saturday, or by Sunday night if you are picking up at the farm on Tuesday.
I also wanted to let everyone know that Vin&Joy also has curbside pick up available at the same time so check out their shop and place your orders. It’s a great way to get Mother’s Day gifts, birthday presents, new clothes for yourself! Support small stores and local businesses in these trying times instead of always turning to Amazon!
Farm News
Work on the farm is ramping up. Not only are the fields getting plowed in anticipation of planting corn soon, but we’ve also started out-planting some of our starts. The Dino and Purpurkal Kale and Swiss Chard are in the ground with tatsoi, chinese cabbage, broccoli, and cilantro going out tomorrow! It won’t be long now til we are all eating fresh greens again. And the garlic is looking amazing. It’s time to clear out any remaining jars of garlic scape pesto out of the freezer in anticipation of new scapes only a month away!
Events
Unfortunately, it’s pretty obvious we will not be having a soap making class this spring like originally planned. Hopefully by the fall…or next spring we will be able to do that.
We also are sad that we are not able to welcome everyone to the farm to see all the goat kids and experience their crazy antics – so make sure you are following daily videos and pictures of them on either our Grumpy Goat Experiment instagram or facebook page. We will only have them around for entertainment for another month :(
And this week’s GOAT OF THE WEEK is Pepper! She is the super cute twin of Dotty – both of whom rock the white speckled ears. She’s been a little on the shy side – playing hard to get. This week she is finally coming out of her shell and getting into the neck scratches.

The Wednesday Market: The Wednesday Market is Re-Opening!
Great news! The Wednesday Market is opening soon!
The Market will be open for orders, and the system will be turned on Saturday, April 24, at 4 p.m. You may order until 10 p.m. on Monday, April 27. Orders will be ready for pick up between 2 and 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29.
Please note that we are still observing our “social distancing” protocol. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Wednesday Market is making some important changes to our order pick up procedures.
The health and well-being of our customers and volunteers are of our utmost concern. To minimize risk of spreading the virus, we ask that you follow these steps when you come to the Market.
1. Call or text us when you are about 5 minutes from arriving at the Market. Sharon (404) 569-0582; Irma (770) 584-0432.
2. We will place your order outside on the porch at the Market, along with a note showing the total of your order.
3. Please pay by CHECK ONLY and leave payment on the desk outside the front door.
4. After you have picked up your order, we will retrieve your payment from the desk.
If you will be late picking up your order, you may use the key from the lock box on the porch. Call or text Sharon or Irma at the numbers listed above if you need the lock box access code. Orders for late pickup will be in the refrigerator along with an envelope for you to provide payment.
These instructions will be shared again in Sunday’s weblog.
We look forward to seeing you NEXT week.
Your Wednesday Market volunteers,
Sharon, Irma, Anna and Beverly

Siloam Springs, AR: Online Market is Open!!
https://siloamsprings.locallygrown.net
We have some new products available this week – Thomas Stanford Art Prints, Cloth Face Masks (under sewn items), additional baked goods, and Sirloin Tip Steaks. Perennial Gardens is also adding plants each week as they are ready to sell so keep a watch on those if you’re ready to begin outdoor planting.
Enjoy shopping for your favorite items and consider adding a bouquet of flowers for yourself or someone that could use a pick me up! Remember that we are selling gift cards to our downtown businesses. Purchasing a gift card is a great way to show your support for them now and then use the card whenever you’re ready to shop or gift it to someone.
Have a great week and see you Saturday!
