Martin's Farmstand: Time for pesto
It is time to make pesto. I have a lots of basil and parsley that needs to be harvested to keep the plants fresh. I can cut a whole tub full (mix or match) of herbs for you for $20 or half a tubful for $10. We have both garlic scapes and fresh bulb garlic to make that pesto complete. Green and yellow beans and new red skin potatoes are waiting for you. Cucumbers are becoming abundant and the first dill heads are ready. Number 1 grade zucchini and summer squash are available by the box at $16 each. The first sweet corn is ready also. Henry grew this corn from plants that he started indoors early in the spring then he covered it with a row cover- these corn plants were babied.
The black raspberries are in there peak season right now. They are giving a bumper crop which amazes me. (I am not a first grader) I was expecting a small crop because of the terrible dry weather. We can use a few more people in the u-pick schedule tomorrow. Daniel

The Wednesday Market: Help! The Market is in Danger of Closing!
HELP!! The Wednesday Market needs your HELP!! Two of our four market Managers are retiring. Irma Wing and Anna Evans will be retiring after 8 years and 10 years respectively. The market needs volunteers to replace them. We can’t do this without replacements and that makes the Market really vulnerable to closure. Ours is an ALL Volunteer Market. Our Mission Statement is to support and increase LOCAL Agriculture by providing a venue for the sales of locally produced, quality, sustainable food products. So, if you believe in Home Grown food. If you believe in building a safe food network and reducing the amount of food imported into this country – then PLEASE consider volunteering for 3-4 hours one day a week with The Wednesday Market. Almost all of our products are locally grown and come from Pike County and the counties that touch Pike – Upson, Lamar, Spalding, and Meriwether. Our Milk comes from Henry County, our Honey from Butts County and our Georgia Grown Olive Oil comes from South Georgia. All Eggs and almost all of our fruits and vegetables are grown in Pike, Spalding, and Lamar. Anything else is grown in Georgia and sourced to our market by a local Vendor. Local Farm families depend on sales through our Market, so in essence you may not be a Gardener but you ARE growing your own food locally by supporting local farm families. So please contact us or come by the Wednesday Market this Wednesday between 2;00 and 4;00 p.m. and let us show you how you can become a part of your Local Food community. And Thank You for being a loyal supporter of our safe food initiative.

Champaign, OH: Scarborough Fair
Are you going to Scarborough Fair? Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme…
(Simon & Garfunkel)
Just a huge thank you for an amazing market, once again!! You are the best customers, and I love you to the moon and back!!
A few reminders…pick up is between 4pm-6pm, with no assigned time slots! We have been loving the hustle of getting it all out to the cars, and getting you on the way, while giving you the freedom to pick your own times.
AND…At market pick up…don’t forget to pull over to the side, after you collect your order, and pick up all the fresh flowers that the girls from Flourish will have to offer at their stem bar, set up in the Hippie and the Farmer outdoor garden kitchen!! How fun to arrange your own bouquets, and they will also have house plants available!! BUT…REMEMBER THAT THIS WILL BE A SEPERATE SERVICE, so bring cash with you, or a card that they can run. They will not have access to any of your cards on file!!
Have a great day, and thank you, so much for making us your weekly shopping adventure…
On a side note, remember how I always tell you to get your orders in so that you will not be sad? Guess who is sad, today?? Me!!!!! I should have taken my own advice…
See you, tomorrow…
XOXO,
Cosmic Pam
The Cumming Harvest - Closed: Weblog Entry
Good morning everyone, We hope everyone had an amazing and safe Fourth of July. Here are the announcements for this week: We have had too many people leave their products every week, so we will be charging the five dollar holding fee. This fee will be charged if you place an order, and do not cancel before Thursday at 8 PM. We cannot continue to hold orders, every single week for clients. We would love to be able to, however we simply just do not have the space. Also, please remember that the market closes at 12 noon sharp on Saturday. We have had a lot of clients trying to show up after 12, and we need to be respectful of the volunteers time. Starting this week if you pick up after 12, and have not communicated to the market manager that you are running late, we will be charging a five dollar service fee. We understand things happen, so if something pops up please alert the market manager as soon as possible. As always if there are any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out.
