Champaign, OH:  Happy Market Day!

Happy Thursday, everyone!!

Just a reminder that it is market day, and you may pick up your orders anywhere between 4pm-6pm!

If you need a Friday pick up, 10am-12pm, please give me a quick email or text, and I will put those orders aside!

Thank you, once again, for another great week for the market!! And, with your orders, today, you will find that I will be including a few of our new market cards, made possible from a donation from one of our lovely market customers!! Feel free to hand a card out to a friend, family or neighbor, or if you work in a place that allows you to stock business type cards, that would be super as well!

We are so proud of this market, it’s customers, it’s vendors, and it’s almost 10 year old roots in the community, and we think our brand new cards reflect that…

See you, this afternoon…thank you, so very much!

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

  • All Sylvania customers 4:00 pm — 5:00 pm

Want to change your pickup time? Pickup times are established and changed in response to weekly sales volume and available volunteer hours. We will have help available this week between 4 and 6 to assemble your orders and bring them out to your vehicles; however, we can accommodate a few early or late orders with advance notice. To change your slot or request early or late pickup, please text 912.481.2263 with your ORDER NAME and the TIME you want to pick up.

Remember! When you head out to your pickup location, be sure to take a mask, a placard with your order name(s), and appropriate containers for your food.

THE DRIVE-THROUGH PROCEDURE in Statesboro.

  • Drive to the right (counter clockwise) all the way around the SCVB, keeping to the outer perimeter and maintaining a tight queue. A volunteer will check you in as you come around the far side of the building.
  • Please display the name(s) for your order(s) on a windshield placard to assist in quick and safe check-in.
  • Please wear a mask while communicating with market staff.
  • Provide access to your vehicle and to the containers you want loaded (bags, boxes, bins or coolers); unlock the back door or the trunk, with containers inside.
  • We recommend that you bring a cooler for transporting meat, dairy and perishable items. Ice cream melts, even in a short car trip, and our fresh non-homogenized milk is temperature sensitive.
  • Wait in your car for the runner to come out with your order and load into your containers. Make sure your name placard is visible.
  • If you did not prepay on line with a debit or credit card, please make a check for exact amount when your order is delivered. (You may pay cash in exact amount, but any “change” from cash received will be credited to your account. Use an envelope to label the cash payment with your order name.)

PICKUP for SYLVANIA CUSTOMERS.
Pickup is across the street from the Victory Gardens General Store. Please remain in your car until volunteers bring your order, and wear a mask when interacting with volunteers. We recommend that you bring a cooler for transporting meat, dairy and perishable items.

HOME DELIVERY CUSTOMERS.
Orders will be delivered between 2:00 and 5:00 by Boro Takeout. You will receive a notice when your driver is on the way. We recommend you leave a cooler at the front door (or your designated delivery location) to facilitate no-contact delivery and to keep perishable food safe.

EBT CUSTOMERS.
Right now we can scan EBT/SNAP cards only at the Statesboro pickup location. So, if you have ordered online with the intent to pay with your EBT card, you’ll need to come to the Statesboro Drive Through at the Convention and Visitors Bureau between 3:30 and 6:30. Email or text us in advance so we can calculate your bonus dollars and the amount to be charged to your card.

The Cumming Harvest - Closed:  October is here

Good morning everyone,

October is here, with cooler weather to start. We are so excited. Leaves start to fall and new items are hitting the market.

This week, any questions or concerns about Saturday’s market need to be sent to the market manager by Friday at noon. I will not be available on Saturday. Mckenzie, our assistant manager will be running the market on Saturday.

Don’t forget to pick up your items the week you order them, to avoid a five dollar holding fee. This fee will be applied 2 weeks in a row, and if you do not pick up on the second week we will donate the items to Meals By Grace.
And remember the market hours are from 10 AM until 12 noon sharp.

As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Market News

Welcome to October! We are thrilled to be welcoming three new vendors to the Big Canoe Harvest this week! Some of you got a sneak peak at Fellows Family Apiary’s products two weeks ago – they added their delicious Sourwood Honey after the market opened. Their honey comes in 1 pound squeeze bottles, perfect for all your honey needs. Our next new vendor, Ellijay Mushrooms, brings shitakes and oyster mushrooms back to the market. Check out their three pound boxes for an INCREDIBLE deal, or in more manageable 1 pound and 3.5 oz selections as well. Our last new vendor, Chestnut Rise Farm, is growing delicious produce on family land in Ball Ground – can’t get much more local than that! Kyle of Chestnut Rise Farm is also a certified wild mushroom forager, so we’re excited to see what else he brings to the market in the coming weeks.
Please remember as you order that per the POA’s instructions, we cannot leave your food unattended. If you need us to deliver to your neighbor or slip your order inside your house, please be sure to tell us in the comments so we can make sure your order gets to you safely!
If you have other suggestion about how we can continue to make deliveries without being able to leave products unattended, we’d love to hear them. We’re still developing the best ways to get your orders to you, and we welcome any of your ideas.
As always, if you enjoy being a member of Big Canoe Harvest, tell your friends! The more the market grows, the more additional vendors and products we’ll be able to include. As always, your feedback help shapes the market. Let us know what you think about the Big Canoe Harvest products.
Have a wonderful week, and we’ll see you Saturday!
Whitney and Eddy

We thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible!
