Champaign, OH: You Can't Always Get What You Want
You can’t always get what you want
But if you try sometime you find
You get what you need…
(The Rolling Stones)
Happy Thursday evening, on this first day of October!!
I am finally settling in for the night, adding my seasonal soups to the market, having a glass of wine, listening to a very rousing version of this Stones song that I have chosen for tonight’s blog.
If you want a down and bluesy version of this song, turn on to, the Tedeschi Trucks Band version…just what I needed to blow out of this week.
It’s been a week, lovelies. One of those weeks where right when you thought you had it all on track, just one more thing would shoot at you. It’s been a test, this week…lol.
Anyway, the song, the verse…I hope that you always feel this market has what you want, and what you need.
I loved seeing you all, this evening, at market pick up. I love all of your conversations, the music I pick up on, playing in your cars, and making sure you are happy, as you go back out into the world.
I am opening the market, again, this evening, with nothing but love for all of you.
My own products are out of vacation mode, and I look forward to your market orders!
The market is bursting with all the goodness of the season…take advantage…
You just might find
You get what you need…
XOXO,
Cosmic Pam
Wedge Oak Farm: Pre-Order for 10/3/20
What lovely weather we are having. Wedge Oak Farm is thrilled to get roasting… Some of our favorites are whole chicken, chuck roasts and pork roasts too.
You can do a hands off crock pot dish or braise in the oven for a tender and crispy skin.
Roasted Poultry Stock and Beef Stock are a great way to start a stew or soup. You can still make the best homemade Tomato Soup starting with a stock, an onion, and a bit of garlic. Flavor it with a touch of fresh basil from the garden or some curry powder to send the flavor in another direction. A blender will puree and so will the food processor. Yum!
Our sausages are easy and on the menu this week. We have chicken, beef, duck and pork link sausages in a variety to suit every palate.
You have been asking for duck eggs and we hear you. There is a pesky owl that likes our ducks as much as we do. Our layers are being traumatized nightly and are holding the eggs back due to stress. We have a second set of layers that are due to lay the first of 2021 but that is still a ways off. We hate this situation and are trying to remedy it with solar lights and bird of prey decoys.
Thank you for taking the time to shop with us. We appreciate your patronage!
The online market closes Friday 10/02, at 10 AM

Champaign, OH: Lettuce Update
Old Souls just emailed that they will not have their Bibb lettuce for the market, tomorrow.
Please, and I do apologize, but I am only the messenger…deduct the amount for the Bibb lettuce if you are a check/cash person.
If you are a card person, I will sit and go through each order, this morning, deducting totals, before I run cards, this week…
XOXO,

Champaign, OH: Forever Autumn
The summer sun is fading as the year grows old…
(Justin Hayward, also performed by The Moody Blues)
This song always puts a little tear in my eye, as does the autumn season. That tiny little bridge from vibrant, sunny summer, to the winter months, on the fringe, waiting to appear.
Seasonal changes always get to me. No clue why they make me so emotional, but they do. And, as we stand on the brink of lovely October, this week has had me extra emotional. I’m sure the moon is playing into that, as well, but whatever, here I am, your market manager, in her usual autumn retrospection, ready to bask in October.
You lovelies gave us another amazing market with sales, and love!! I love printing out the weekly reports, and reading all of the kind comments you all write. Again, ole teary eyes, this morning, started crying, again, because you love the market, so very much!
A few notes:
Tomorrow, there will be no time slots! You may arrive anywhere from 4pm-6pm. Just remember that the largest traffic jam is usually between 4:00-4:30. There may be a wait, but we will get to all of you!
If you are new, this week, we welcome payment by credit/debit cards, to keep on file, encouraging contactless payments. OR, you may have a check ready, made out to Oakview Farm Meats, OR, exact cash/change, in a ziplock bag, with your name!!
As we approach the winter months…just thinking ahead, the market is going to off a delivery service, with an added delivery fee, for those of you who would rather not be out in the cold (although there is no need for you to exit your vehicles), or would rather not brave the snowy/icy roads. There will be more on that, later, but another service that we can now offer in the winter months!
And, I am going to be adding a Holiday Section to the market categories, soon, for any vendor specials/gift packs, etc. to make your holiday shopping easier, and keeping it all local.
We love you to the moon and back, and will see you at tomorrow’s pick up!
XOXO,
Cosmic Pam
