A DAY OF REFLECTION
No doubt most of you remember where you were, who you were with, and what you were doing when the attacks of 9/11/2001 happened. Like the moon landing years before, the event was of such significance that people stayed glued to their radio and/or television for hours. Unlike the moon landing that brought us together in a triumph of achievement, the attacks of 9/ll brought us together in shock, dismay, & grief. The moon landing was over in a short time, but 9/11 went on and on day after day, week after week, stretching into years with search, rescue, funerals, cleanup, memorials – all still fresh in our memories. Our grandchildren will fill its ripples years from now just as we still experience the ripples of Pearl Harbor. Hopefully, prayerfully, by then the Middle East will be allies & friends, just as Japan is a friendly nation to us now.
And hopefully, prayerfully, it won’t take a nuclear incident to achieve that.

Martin's Farmstand: Sweet tender lettuce and homegrown grapes
This is September and the farmstand is full of the late summer/early fall bounty. We are overstocked on lettuce at the moment as two plantings are ready at once. Today we are offering one free head of lettuce to each person that comes out. (as supplies last) The watermelons are also very plentiful and on sale. Our grapes vines have yielded nicely this year. We are picking them as needed for the stand. (also u-pick) There are various kinds to chose from. (All seeded slip skin juice type). Canning tomatoes are abundant. Sooner is better than later to get your canning tomatoes as the season goes by quicker than one may think. We encourage our customers to cut a free bouquet of flowers (u-cut) to enjoy as well as take a bouquet to a person whose spirits could use n uplift. Daniel

Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!
PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m.
If you do not get an email ORDER CONFIRMATION right after you order then your order is NOT complete. Log back in and your order might still be there waiting for you to check out! If you have any trouble or questions at all, we are here to help; simply reply to this email.
