Middle Tennessee Locally Grown:  New Items This Week

We have several new or returning items on the market this week. As usual, I may have missed a few, so you might want to check the whole list. If you have already placed your order, but see some new items that you missed, simply place another order, same way you did the first. At checkout, the software will combine them for us.

New vegetables and a fruit from Country Road Homestead:

(Top) Sweet corn, eggplant, okra.
(Bottom) “Yukon Gold” potatoes, Acorn squash, and watermelon – all grown organically.

From Merriwether Bakes:

(Top, L to R) Millionaire’s Shortbread. And not “new”, but these tiny pies (this one peach & berry) are just so cute I had to add it!

Foothills Market:  The Market is Open!

Because of the hot, dry summer, Foothills Market unfortunately doesn’t have a lot of fresh vegetables at this point. Luckily, though, our growers have other value-added products that can pick up the slack until fall produce begins to come in.

There are still locally-raised beef, whether you are looking for T-bone steaks or ground beef for hamburgers or a casserole. We also have a variety of baked goods ranging from brownies to cookies to sweet breads perfect for breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, we have a selection of homemade jams and jellies that you can be sure have none of the high-fructose corn syrup or preservatives in the brand-name versions.

Browse the market between now and Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. We’ll have your order ready for pickup on Thursday afternoon.
