Good morning.

The Wednesday Market is open for orders. Please place your order by 10 p.m. Orders are ready for pick up between 2 and 4 p.m. Wednesday. See the website for this week’s orders. Here is the link: https://wednesdaymarket.locallygrown.net/market

Thank you for supporting Georgia Grown.
Should you have questions about or need assistance with your order, please contact Sharon Fox, (404) 569-0582, call or text, or via email [email protected].

Today is a day to be weather aware. We are under a tornado watch until 1 p.m. and also under a flash flooding watch until 2:30 p.m. Here is a message from Pike Emergency Management Agency: “If you don’t have to get out today, please don’t. We have several roads flooding and many more will probably have water on them soon. Pike and Upson are dealing with many roads flooded. Do not drive through these areas. Some of the roads have reports of washed out asphalt in some of these areas.”

Be safe! We’ll see you at the Market.

Thanks,

Beverly

I have been using Lion’s Mane powder in my morning coffee in the ratio of 3 parts coffee to 1 part mushroom powder to up my antioxidants. I feel great! MISC MARKET NOTES

Countdown to EASTER

Last week’s really cold snap was tough. Various reports have come in from the region about fruit blooms being damaged, tender crops having to be replanted, all kind of difficulty for folks who work the soil.

You wouldn’t know it today. It’s been a lovely spring day – the kind that makes you want to sit outside with a glass on lemonade and watch puppies, children and birdies play in the grass; the kind of day you hope Easter Sunday will be. The kind of day that makes you want to go to Dothan Nurseries and spend too much for beautiful plants to adorn your home the rest of the year and for years to come.

For several of your Market vendors it means our chickens have amped up production – just in time for healthy egg dishes, colored eggs, and thinking about new ways to enjoy this classic staple protein. No wonder it is used so many ways at Easter.

Who needs a centerpiece with eggs like this? Many of these started out brown or blue and the addition of dye created deep, rich colors.

We hope you’ll take advantage of the many unique products M@D offers for your observance. You can’t go wrong with any of the sweet treats, jams, jelly or honey on your table. And if you opt for a great chicken over pork, this is the right place!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Starting this week we are resuming our standard WEEKLY ordering schedule
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This beautiful dish (and yes, you can tell eggs are on our mind today) is a FRITTATA, a very easy and versatile dish that can be used for any meal. https://carlsbadcravings.com/frittata, is the best instructional site we’ve run across and will give you plenty of great ideas to incorporate your favorite flavors. Enjoy!

LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!
