Champaign, OH:  Winter

And it’s sure been a cold, cold winter…
(Winter-The Rolling Stones)

I always feel that this is a under appreciated old Stones song, from one of my favorite of their albums, Goats Head Soup…

I’ve been in an old Stones kind of way, lately…their bluesy, early years.

Maybe it’s this winter that is driving me to be under a musical blues kind of way. But, whatever the reason, this market is also making me dance, and sing, and getting groovy, each week!

In the coming week, the market may be our only spot of sunshine…our winter is promising to take us on a bluesy path, soon.

Let’s not think about the weather, or the dreariness of it all…let’s think about making it all easier, tastier, more nutrition packed, more flavor packed, more fueled by market love…

Go ahead, make your lists, check the market listings, and place those orders. One less thing to think about, if you let us be the sunshine in your life!

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

Yalaha, FL:  Interested in Dairy?

Please send me a message if you are interested in getting Dairy through the market on a regular basis. We may be able to Have raw Jersey Cow Milk from Good Earth Dairy. And Possibly a new opportunity for Goat Dairy products (raw Milk, Cream, Several types of Cheese and even some deserts) from Sunshine Farms in Paisley FL.

So, if you want me to pursue Dairy, let me know. It will probably mean picking up later on Saturday or Sunday if you want milk.

Thanks,
Aleece B. Landis

Independence,VA:  Market is OPEN/KNIFE SHARPENING On Jan. 23rd!

*

Good evening,

It’s that time of week! Be sure to place your order and check back if you don’t see what you’re hoping to find.

To Shop: Independence Farmers Market.

Don’t forget to bring your knives and anything else you’d like to have sharpened to the Online Market pickup next Wednesday, January 23rd! Tim Mansfield of Shear Perfection will join us from 4-6 pm.

Join us next Saturday, January 26th, for a vegetable growing workshop for all skill levels. We’ll meet at the Grayson LandCare/IFM office at 108 Courthouse Street. Cost is $10 and light refreshments will be served. Planting dates, spacing, interplanting and succession plantings will be addressed. Using information from the best national and local gardeners you’ll learn to apply these techniques to a single raised bed or a full-sized market garden. We’ll break into groups and design gardens for maximum production. We’ll also have our favorite tools, books and catalogs on display. Start planning for a successful garden now. The class is limited to 30 people. Please email Michelle Pridgen at [email protected] to register.

Thank you for supporting the Independence Farmers Market!
