Champaign, OH:  The Honeyed Haze

It’s that time of the day when the sunshine dissolves into that golden haze that looks like honey as the light fades into the soon to be evening.

I’ve just poured a glass of wine, listening to Sweet Virginia by The Rolling Stones, and making dinner.

At the same time, I’m thinking about what orders I will be placing at the market before we close, for the week, in the morning.

Will you be folllowing me?

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

Old99Farm Market:  Old 99 Farm, week of Oct 29 2019

We havested our squashes this weekend: have a good variety to choose from. Greens as usual: kale, chard, collards; rootcrops: carrots, potatoes, celeriac, beets, onions.
Herbs: thyme, basil, oregano, lovage, spearmint
Meats: beef, pork and stewing hens
Fruit: apples, cherry tomatoes.

I’m putting hay and straw in the barn on wednesday and could really use a few hands. If you can come for a couple hours in the morning or afternoon, I’d really appreciate it. (Barring rain of course)

Cider Day: this sunday we’ll be doing our traditional cider pressing with on farm apples or your own if you wish. Start 2pm, to 5pm. Also making lard and serving hot squash soup.

Healthy eating

Siloam Springs, AR:  Online Market is Open!

What a stormy night! All is well at my house and I’m very thankful. We have no power or cell service where I live so apologies for opening late. I came to town to get things up and running. The east side of Siloam has quite a bit of damage. Keep all the electric department employees in your prayers. I’m sure they’ve been out working all night and know they are still working now.

Perennial Gardens will be at the pickup with items to sell. There will be some nice stocking stuffers for kids and some house plants.

Thankful our community is ok today even after sustaining damage from the storm.

Have a great week and see you Saturday!
