Martin's Farmstand: Beautiful lettuce in midsummer
What a relief to have rain finally. May June and July were very very dry. In spite of that (and because of Gods sunshine and farmers that were diligently irrigating) the stand is packed full of lots of good food. A few highlights are lots of really nice romaine, leafy lettuce, spinach and cilantro. The garlic bulbs are harvested and the sweet and red onions are big enough that we are pulling them as needed. We have limited amounts of beans now but it looks like the next planting is set to give hundreds of lbs starting in about a week. The carrots are also big enough that we have started pulling them. It is peak season for blueberries and cucumbers.
On the Locally grown website (martinsfarmstand.locallygrown.net) you will see some items with zero as available number. This normally means the item is in season with an active flow coming through the stand but the supply at the stand is intermittent for some reason. Daniel
The Cumming Harvest - Closed: August is here
Good morning everyone, Welcome to August! Now is the perfect time to stock up on all veggies and produce. It’s hot outside and so the veggies are growing. Now it’s also a great time to tell your family and friends about the Cumming Harvest and spread the news. Just a few announcements this week. We have noticed an influx of clients leaving their produce at the market at the end of the week. Because we are in the heart of veggie season, we do not have room to hold products over to the following week. If you are unable to pick up your items on Saturday, you need to reach out to the market manager. We will be charging a five dollar holding fee for every week that your items are not picked up. Please keep in mind because all of our products are fresh and locally grown, after the first week, we cannot guarantee quality of the product. Any products that are held longer than a week, will be donated the following week. If you have any questions regarding this please feel free to reach out to the market manager.
As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
