Berea Gardens: Ordering is enabled! 2021 Here We Go
Hi everyone,
Hope you have all had a safe and healthy winter. Our growing season starts with seeding veggies in late January and we are ready to open our market on Wednesday. There are many good things in store for you this season. We don’t have a lot of variety this early, but what we do have is excellent. Much more will be available in the next few weeks.
Melody Urbanic will have Chef Tim’s awesome baked goods, and if you use Facebook you can message her with pre-orders here: www.facebook.com/melody.urbanic
We will operate just as we did last year with our drive-through market at the old Minnora School at Rt. 16 South and Milo Rd. Hours will be from 4 to 7 PM every Wednesday until Thanksgiving. Ordering window will remain open from the time you get this weekly email on Sundays until 9 AM on Tuesdays.
We are excited to open this new season and look forward to seeing you all.
Blessings,
Bob and Lynnita

CLG: Tamales! Opening Bell: Chard, Honey, Plants, Carrots!
Hello friends!
On Saturday morning the 4th annual plant sale hosted by Bell urban farm was a huge success! It was great to see hundreds of people coming out to get plants for their gardens. Over 1500 plants left our table in less than two hours, but I kept some back at Cedar rock Ridge for this week’s market. If you need marigolds, basil, or Cherokee purple tomatoes, act fast before they’re gone.
The garlic beds are looking very good right now. The plants are just starting to bulb so we should be digging and curing them early June.
Strack Farm says their asparagus is still doing well. Get it while you can! And the carrots from Rattle’s Garden are amazingly flavorful and crisp. Great for stirfry or broiled. Spinach, Turnips, Swiss Chard, Lettuce and Kale are also available. There’s some wonderful spring eating right there! Food is medicine.
Tamales!
Pork, chicken or jalapeño & cheese.
Five for $7. All same kind.
At market this Friday, April 23rd.
Text me your order.
501–339-1039
Lots of green garlic available this week. Season is almost over so I’ll be digging and dehydrating the rest of the crop in a week or so.
Be sure to SEARCH for your favorite items using the search field. For instance, type in the word “plant” or “pork” and see what pops up. We have almost 500 items available now!
Most items are listed by 6pm Sunday, but check back again before the market closes Tuesday night to see if any other items are ready to be harvested for you! Eat fresh! Eat local! Eat for better health!
And save your eggshells throughout the week for the laying hens! :-)
In accordance with the current guidelines, we will not have more than 10 people in the lobby at any time. We have four volunteers who can bring your order to your car if you prefer, just call or text 501-339-1039.
The market is now OPEN for orders. Click here to start shopping: *https://conway.locallygrown.net/market

Foothills Market: Tell Us What You Think!
Next Saturday (April 24) marks the opening day for the Johnson County Community Market on the courthouse square (8 a.m.-noon). Several of our vendors from Foothills Market will be participating in the in-person market, the first one in nearly two years!
At Foothills Market, we are trying to decide whether it is worthwhile to keep operating the online market while the in-person market is open for the summer. Can you help us decide? We have a short (5-questions) survey asking about your preferences for getting your fresh, local food this summer.
Please take a few minutes to answer the survey. We’d like to have your responses by noon tomorrow (Sunday) so we can decide whether this coming week will be the last week of the season for Foothills or whether we will continue on throughout the summer.
Thank you for your help!
