The Cumming Harvest - Closed:  Grower Spotlight

This week, we feature one of our growers – Simply Southard. Be sure to check out their products each week and support them when you can.

Simply Southard – They grow their own fruits without the use of chemicals and pesticides. They make their own jams and jellies and relishes from family recipes, one batch at a time, not in mass production. These jams, jellies, and relishes are made in their Certified Kitchen. They grow it…they pick it…they make it.

Our address is: 3540 Keith Bridge Road, Cumming 30041 (behind Hollywood Feed). Please be sure to come to the new address this weekend.

As a reminder the market is open from Wednesday morning through Thursday at 8pm for orders. All orders must be picked up on Saturday from 10am until 12pm noon. Please be respectful of our volunteers’ time and plan to pick up early and not right before noon.
As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Thanks,
Angie Breindl

Miami County Locally Grown:  Unexpected Closure

Unfortunately our family is dealing with some ongoing health problems -

I do apologize, but I need to keep the Market closed this week – I’m sure you all have had a time where something needed to give, and for my husband, children and I, this week it must be the Market.

I very much enjoyed seeing you all today, as usual – what a wonderfully pleasant, eclectic group of folks we have! Thank you for being a joy to work for.

Here’s hoping you all have a good week, stay safe with the heat, and if all works out we’ll open back up next Tuesday August 17th.

Take care, and we’ll simply continue to do what we can.

Wedge Oak Farm:  100% Grass-Fed Beef back this week

Hi All

We hope you’re having a great week thus far and staying cool in this crazy humidity.
We just finished a breaking down a beautiful grass-fed and grass-finished beef. This was an older and healthy beef that yielded some amazingly beautiful fat, not always the case for typically leaner grass-fed cows. We dry-aged the beef for 21 days, to lend even more flavor, as well as, tenderness.

We also have poussin back in stock, and all the pork you need for your grilling needs.

We hope to see you this weekend!

Lathemtown Farm Fresh Market:  This Week at the Market

I am about to start a rain dance here at the farm – we need rain!!! By this time last year we were drowning in figs. Without rain, they haven’t grown more than the size of green grapes in the last few weeks! That takes a toll on the rest of the garden too. The leaves are looking wilted in the hot sun. So…. we are in a veggie slump. I have some tomatoes, but new ones haven’t been growing quickly behind what has been picked, Hopefully, we will get a drenching this week to help it along.
New this week is our baby arugula which we planted weeks ago.
Have a great week and keep those container returns coming – thank you!
