GROWER & MARKET NOTES
Eat The Rainbow: Today it hit me that eating brightly colored foods isn’t necessarily just for the spring and summer months. We’re used to all the reds and yellows and greens of summer produce, but this week while admiring Avalon’s persimmons and packing Senposai and beets, I realized that some cooler weather seasonal foods have more intense color than summer varieties.
CHRISTMAS GIVING NOTE: If you are considering Market items for gifts (and we have SO much to offer!) consider ordering EARLY while those items are available. Many of our vendors participate in craft shows, charity events, etc and if supply of an item runs out it may or may not be replenished in a timely manner. Things like soap take weeks to cure and one of a kind crochet items are gone when they’re gone. We expect to have plenty of goodies available at Open House on Dec. 3 but with all of us being small operations we want you, our loyal Market customers to have first dibs. Ordering early is the way to do that.
We thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible!

Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!
PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m.
If you do not get an email ORDER CONFIRMATION right after you order then your order is NOT complete. Log back in and your order might still be there waiting for you to check out! If you have any trouble or questions at all, we are here to help; simply reply to this email.
COVID19: Thanks for recognizing we can all do our part in operating in the safest way possible. Be on the lookout for the order reminder email with any changes to pickup or ways you can help minimize risk for our volunteers and each other. Thanks for your support!*

For those of you who love milk. Our friend from FareMarket has asked us to encourage you to order your milk on SUNDAY. Ben drives 4 hours to pick up that delicious milk and knowing the amount we need for our market makes it easier for him to be sure and pick up enough to fulfill your order. So, whenever possible, please make your milk orders on Sunday night. We really appreciate it!
There’s a couple live plants for sale, make sure to check them out and get your fall planting going.
Do you love CLG? Take a second to forward this email to a friend who doesn’t know about this great online farmers market, which lets you conveniently place orders from the comfort of your house, and provides a one-stop quick pick-up for local veggies, meats, eggs, baked goods, jams, jellies and more!
Most items are listed by 6 pm Sunday, but check back again before the market closes Tuesday night to see if any other items are ready to be harvested for you! Eat fresh! Eat local! Eat for better health!

Halloween is almost here! Shop this week’s market to stock up on tasty treats for the occasion! Our baked goods category has a huge variety of textures and flavors! The cold snap this week may have ended the warm weather crops but greens season is coming! In the meantime, microgreens are a yummy and nutritious choice. How about some fall scented candles from Meadowlark Valley to add to your decorations? Looking for more grown-up treats than candy? Jams, jellies and honey make great gifts for people with more developed palates. Or maybe instead of sweets you might hand out lip balm from The Purple Gypsy or Meadowlark Valley?
Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram!
REMINDER- We can no longer accept credit or debit cards. We will still be able to process cash, checks and SNAP/EBT transactions.
We appreciate your patience with us during this transition.
Check back frequently as our farmers regularly update what they have available. Multiple orders are encouraged. :)
