Grower’s News:
Oakview Farm: We hope that everyone had a great holiday. We are glad to have made it through the cold weather and glad that most of our veggies survived the cold. We will have Hakurei turnips this week – small, tender and sweet trnips you will absoluely love! Along with our Salad Greens mix, made with spinach, arugula, mustard and trunip greens. We will also have our Artisan Sourdough bread, a few varieties of jams, as well as our NEW Peanut Butter Chocolate Cps. A delicious way to start the new year.
Pinky’s Micros: We have Cilantro, Cinnamon Basil, & Parsley available for our last market! Plus all of our regular microgreens we grow all the time!!
Basic Salad Mix that packs flavor with colorful combination of five different organic microgreens; Broccoli, Kale, Kohlrabi, Arugula and Red Cabbage, Broccoli Microgreens, Pea Shoots, Radish Microgreens and Sunflower Microgreens.
Happy holidays and super excited for the new year
Sow’s Ear Piggery: Rendered lard from Non-GMO, non-antibiotic pork back fat from free-range pig. We personally use daily in cooking and baking in place or oils or butter and have excellent cholesterol numbers.
This lard is “soft/smooth” directly from the fridge but can be used successfully for baking if the required amount is placed in the freezer for 20-30 minutes before being cut into your flour/dry ingredients.
There is plenty more fat back to offer more lard in the coming weeks, based on response.
Also, if a buyer returns the quart jar, I will offer a discounted price for future purchase of the same product.
Quarter Spring Farm:
Merry Christmas from the goats!! We have all of the gifts you need for this holiday season. From our pasture raised chicken and lamb to our goat milk soap and lotion, you can find something for everyone on your list. And don’t forget to buy a little something for yourself. Watch for some new items coming soon!
Pennie’s Delights: we have several delicious baked items that would make wonderful holiday gifts or treats from Cakes, Pies, Cookies, Puddings, Cobblers, Sweet Breads, Brownies, several different Cinnamon Rolls and Cupcakes. Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!
PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m.
If you do not get an email ORDER CONFIRMATION right after you order then your order is NOT complete. Log back in and your order might still be there waiting for you to check out! If you have any trouble or questions at all, we are here to help; simply reply to this email.
COVID19: Thanks for recognizing we can all do our part in operating in the safest way possible. Be on the lookout for the order reminder email with any changes to pickup or ways you can help minimize risk for our volunteers and each other. Thanks for your support!*
