Few Growers News:
NashPhilly: Nonnas updated pasta salad, a great flavorful and light snack or side dish for perhaps a steak or a baked chicken breast. I am more than happy to accommodate with specific allergies to the dish? Just add it to the notes when ordering.
Umbria Potato Salad, unlike other pasta salads with bright vinegar flavors, and slight spiciness. Will make a great and healthy snack or meal by itself.
Quarter Spring Farm: we have refreshed our inventory on the Stone’s River market. We have updated pictures and added a new selection of lamb cuts, including sirloin chops and neck slices. We also have a very limited selection of free range Muscovy ducks available exclusively at this market. And as usual we have a plentiful plethora of pastured poultry products for your palate’s pleasure. We also have our usual assortment of goat milk soaps, shampoos, and lotions. So sooth your skin with our suave selection of splendid scents.
Sundae’s Best Dog Treatery

Our other Dog Treats are Gluten free banana & peanut butter dog treats Pumpkin & peanut butter dog treats Dog Treats – Sweet potato & applesauce they come in 2 oz. or 6 oz. packages.
Rus-T-Acres: All our Black Angus Beef is USDA Certified pasture-raised:
Highlighting some of our products this week.
Chuck Roast is cut from the shoulder and neck region of the animal. used for pot roast or, when cubed, stew, because the connective tissue melts as the chuck braises and self-bastes the beef, making it very tender.
Double Ground Beef we chose this blend because of the tender, juicy, flavorful outcome of the product when it is cooked. It is a great blend for Hamburger steaks, chili, soups, and numerous other recipes.
Medium seasoned pork sausage has the perfect blend of sage and pepper to earn the medium status. It also has enough fat for frying up perfectly. I fry my sausage and then use the grease for making my breakfast gravey or for seasoning my cornbread batter.
Some of our produce this week:
White Patty Pan Squash, AKA 10 toes look like the yellow sunburst patty pans but they are white. They taste more like a zucchini but are a little sweeter. They can be prepared in a variety of ways. Cut the top off like a pumpkin, remove the seeds, and stuff them with whatever you like, and then bake, broil, or steam them. YOu can cut them up and fry or sautee them.
Sunburst Patty Pan Squash produces glossy buttercup yellow, scalloped edge squash that has a mild, buttery flavored tender white flesh. They are also referred to as 10 toes because each one has 10 scallops. It is a fun food to work with and can be prepared in a variety of ways. You can cut the top off like a pumpkin, remove seeds, and stuff with anything you would like and then bake them or steam them on the grill, fry them, sautee them. Just any way you want to cook them will be good.
Pinky’s Micros: Microgreens pack 40x more vital nutrients than their mature counterparts. Extremely dense in vital enzymes, minerals, vitamins, omega, and high does of chlorophyll. There aren’t many foods you could eat that are that packed of nutrients and harvested a day before delivery for freshness.
Put them on your sandwiches, top your salads, or use them in place of lettuce.
We love putting them on avocado toast or in a B.L.T Sandwich!
Our new SUMMER Seasonal Chef’s Blend: CANTALOUPE, CUCUMBER, THAI BASIL, RED AMARANTH.
Every season we’ll be creating new blends to represent each season. Along with what we grow all the time.
Peas Shoots, Rose Radish, Broccoli, Basic Salad Mix, and Sunflower Shoots.
RC Farms: Cantaloupe and Watermelon and vegetable (A to Z), various meats and prepared frozen meals and fruit. Our apology for some of the mix up of orders on the webpage, we are in the process of correcting those items.

MISC MARKET NOTES
JBW FARM FRESH: 2+2 = 4 … Of course folks everywhere are trying to convince me that it’s something else. This year it has been quite different from previous years. Plenty to learn and plenty to watch. I have seen something that I have not seen since I was a kid… vigorous JUNE BUG activity!
As a kid, I remember June Bugs in the month of June and thought that June was the only month they were present. Well, I have learned that is not so. June Bugs are at work, many other months besides June. When I was a kid I remember June Bugs in cow patties (Cow Dung) and they would just be working away. Last year, I began to see that again on the farm and this year they have EXPLODED. They are almost completely covering the place where cow patties lay, with soil carried up from under the dung.
June Bug activity is such in the cow patties, that they are virtually regenerating it into the soil. They dig in and under and take the dung down into the soil. This helps the soil provide the plants with usable, regenerated nutrients from the dung, to grow vibrant, strong, healthy plants. We have had June Bug activity begin to increase on our farm as we begin to limit the use of commercial fertilizer, weed killers, and chemicals.
With that said, it’s amazing what can be done through proper animal management, without the use of commercial fertilizer and chemicals. We welcome the June Bugs onto our farm and request that they are actively working to regenerate our soils as many months as they will! To sum it all up… 2 many chemicals + fertilizers are not good 4 our farms!!!
MOUNT MORIAH FARMS: We have added another wonderful soap to our collection! OAK BARREL CIDER… The fragrance is actually one of our long standing, popular soy candle scents. A distinct oak note pulling through a classic cider fragrance makes this scent unique, warm and universally appealing. Notes of apple & mulled fruits are hinted. Go ahead and get this and you certainly won’t regret it! 100% raw goat’s milk along with good for your skin oils, who can beat that?
We look forward to seeing you next Friday at one of our pickup locations. Thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible!
The Wednesday Market: You May Order Now

Wasn’t today’s cooler weather a blessed relief from the heat wave we’ve been experiencing for the past few weeks? And just enough rain fell so that we didn’t have to water the plants today. I hope that this pleasant weather sticks around for a day or two more!
Thank you for supporting Georgia Grown. Have a great weekend, and we’ll see you at the Market.
Thanks,
Beverly
Martin's Farmstand: Abundance at the farmstand
The farmstand is packed with good food today. The bargain table will have an assortment of surplus and seconds bags and boxes at various price points. The beans both green and yellow are in abundance. There is lots of cauliflower and broccoli. Last evening I came home with over 50 cases of really nice “no spray” greenhouse tomatoes, lots of pickler cucumbers, and new red potatoes. The basil is abundant and we will normally have bulk grab bags packed or you can pack your own from the display. Beans are also available bulk. There are still quite a lot of raspberries (mostly black) to be picked. For today I am going to give our large quantity price of $2 pint to all pickers large or small. Come out as we do not have enough help to pick them all ourselves. Blueberries are abundant. I have 40 12 pint flats picked at the moment. For u-pick blueberries you need to go to my Dad (Luke Martin) He picks and offers u-pick on Thursday mornings starting at 8 am till the patch is picked (or into the afternoon till everyone is tired) His phone number is 315 265 0026. His farm is just north of Parishville. The address is 156 Newton Road Potsdam. Daniel

Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!
