Stones River Market:  Market is OPEN - Hip Hip Hooray

Good Morning Customers – The Market is OPEN with some NEW ITEMS and some very much anticipated items..BLACKBERRIES..TOMATOES..CORN..OKRA..!!

Hip Hip Hooray its almost Independence Day. Don’t show up empty-handed for the big celebration, our Growers have items that will surely please everyone.

There is ALOT of News from our Growers this week:

Wedge Oak Farm: We are happy to be available on the Market this week. Stock up on Sausages, Chicken, Bacon, Duck and Pork.

Short Mountain Cultures: We have a NEW ITEM… Organic Jasmine Green Tea & Tennessee Mountain Honey Jun! What is Jun you ask? Jun is a sister culture of Kombucha made with green tea and honey instead of black tea and sugar. It’s a delicious fizzy, refreshing alternative to soda. Our Jun comes in 64 oz Growlers and contains naturally occurring probiotic enzymes and beneficial acids. Enjoy our Jun this holiday with your BBQ or any day!

Rainbow Hill Farm: It’s our Blackberry season, enjoy these sweet, delicious berries fresh, in pies, cobblers or preserves. Watch for our Peaches arriving soon.

CS3 Farms: We will have a few pounds of turnips available this week! If you haven’t tried them cubed and soaked in an herbal vinegar and sautéed or roasted in olive oil and drizzled with herbal honey, you are missing out!

Also check out our herbal honey, shrub (drinking vinegar) concentrate, nut butter, Herbal Power Balls, Golden Pecan Bites, Gourmet Mustards, Hummus, and herbal teas.

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse: Yes, it’s hot. Now is a great time to build up your houseplant collection, with aloe vera, many colorful African violets, and several types of Rex begonias available. I also have a couple of nice solid green hanging spider plants, a pretty Creeping Charlie basket, and just two hanging flame violets available. Any of these will look great on a porch or shady patio for the summer but be sure you don’t let them have direct sunlight.

I’m continuing the process of updating availability. There have been some changes to the fresh cut herb and African violet categories, specifically, with more categories to come. In particular, these two categories will have availability updates just about every week.

Happy Fourth of July! Sorry I don’t have any red, white, and blue planters, but if you’d be interested in one for next year’s celebration, feel free to drop me a line and we can discuss something nice. Linda

6R Farms: This week we have Corn, Okra, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Squash, Zucchini, Cabbage and several delicious Pies.

BB’s Gourmet Pretzels: You can never go wrong setting out our 4 flavors of delicious pretzels and gluten free pretzels and don’t forget our Gluten Free Peanut Butter cookies!

RnR Farms: We will not be able to be on the market this week but will be back next week planning to have Cherry tomatoes, English Cucumbers and will list Lettuce by the Head.

Spring Meadow Farm: Delicious and most anticipated – Tomatoes, Yukon Gold Potatoes, Fresh Basil and Wild Blackberry Jam are available this week.

Flying S Farms: Several types of Cucumbers are available this week, slicing, pickling and burpless. Peaches and Cream corn available by the individual ear or a bakers dozen (13 ears) Green Tomatoes, nice and firm perfect for frying, we will add ripe tomatoes to inventory later today so please check back. We have been busy restocking some of delicious award winning jams.

The Creole Diva: Camellia Red Beans and Rice, Dirty Rice, Creole Jambalaya mixes are a sure crowd pleaser along with our Lemon Zucchini Mini Loaves.

Farrar Farm LLC: Several delicious choices of Beef available this week, light up grills throw a few steaks on and hamburger patties.. always a crowd please or enjoy a slow cooked roast or brisket.

Remember we are having a Market Celebration Drawing for my 1st year as Manager and the upcoming Markets 11th Birthday!!! During June and July your name will be put ‘in the hat’ when you place your order. There will be a 1-$25, 1-$10 and 2-$5 Gift Certificate drawing August 7th, be sure to place an order each week to increase your chances for our Gift Certificates.

Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!

PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m.

If you do not get an email ORDER CONFIRMATION right after you order then your order is NOT complete. Log back in and your order might still be there waiting for you to check out! If you have any trouble or questions at all, we are here to help; simply reply to this email or call Andrew at 770.530.3287

Statesboro Market2Go:  Happy Holidays!

Market2Go is closed this week since the July 4th Independence Day holiday falls on a Thursday pick-up day. We will open again on Friday, July 5th.

Come to the Saturday market this weekend for a Market Picnic. Vendors will be offering a wide variety of picnic food – burgers, sausage, pizza, veggie sandwiches, empanadas, and shrimp skewers plus lots of sides and desserts.

There will be tables and chairs set up everywhere for you and your friends and family to enjoy a picnic at the market.

Our featured vendor this week is Ma’s Country Pantry, offering items made by several family-run Mennonite businesses near Metter. Their condiments, salsas, jams, dressings, and pickled vegetables can be found at the Saturday market and on Market2Go. There will be some samples of their items at the burger bar set up at the seasonal eating booth.

Our featured sponsor this week is Tillman, Brannen, and Minick , a locally owned Feed and Seed store in Statesboro. Stop by their store for rustic home decor, flowers, vegetables, bee supplies, animal care, hunting and fishing gear, clothes, boots and seasonal items.
