News’s from Grower’s and Crafters:

Stones River Market: Don’t know what to give a friend, co-worker, family members or Welcome to Neighbor hood, Get Well etc. There are Gift Certificates available in several different amounts.

Welcome Back…Barefoot Acres Herbs: We grow the herbs we use for our salves, syrups, elixirs, tinctures and glycerites here at Barefoot Acres Herbs in Christiana. If we run out of some thing or there is some thing we can’t grow ( cinnamon, cloves, etc.), we source these herbs organically and sustainably. We believe fresh is key, even when using dried herbs. We know when and how our herbs are grown which ensures a fresh, a more potent and pure product. We’ve added many chemical-free skin products as well as fresh, authentic sourdough, sandwich bread. Spicy Immunity Cider coming soon.

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse: It’s almost Christmas time in Tennessee! Still time to put in your order for decorations from Dogwood Valley Greenhouse. This year I will be selling at Wildwood Christmas Tree Farm in Woodbury, and I want to be sure to reserve enough decorations for all my local friends…….So here is how this will work: prepay the total cost now, and reserve a delivery date. Note: it will be easier for me to fill your order on a later date. I promise I will not run out of wreaths and kissing balls, but it’s hard to make as many as are wanted early in the season. They should last about a month if outside, and will be just as beautiful after Christmas as before. Delivery will begin the first Wednesday of December and continue till all orders are filled. Order and pay now, pick up and enjoy in December. Coming in a month or so: Christmas cacti and African violets, both with foil florist pot wrap.

JillianFaithArt: I sell original artwork and prints of original pieces. They will make wonderful gifts or can brighten anyone’s day.

HempinShrooms: Many mushrooms have medicinal benefits and each one has a unique array of compounds that allow them to help with different issues in the body. They lead to a healthier, happier life. Available this week Chestnut, Lions Mane and Oyster Mushrooms and Dehydrated Mushrooms.

Five White Oaks: I am a 4th generation resident of Murfreesboro, Tennessee who has been baking for friends and family for years. I make cakes, cookies and pies using recipes handed down in my family for more than a century. You will find that my goodies look and taste like what you remember when your Grandmother baked years ago. I use real butter and sugar, fresh eggs and cream in my bakes just the way I was taught so many years ago. My secret ingredient is the same as my own Grandmother’s was – the love I put into it!

Periwinkle and Pine Co.: I make beautiful handmade wreaths, bouquets, and decor using high quality faux florals and greenery.

Singing Bee Honey: I am a third generation beekeeper with 15 beehives in Woodbury, Tennessee. The honey produced is 100% local, raw, unfiltered, and pure. I do everything from managing the hives to harvesting the honey and labeling the jars. My plan is to continue to expand my apiary each year to increase inventory as return and new customers increase. Right now it is all liquid honey, but I plan to add cut comb honey next year.

Terry’s Treasures: I create one of a kind art work and beautiful arrangements of cactus and succulent gardens. Each design is unique, no 2 are exactly alike. Planters and designs vary in size from extra small to large. If you have a special container you would like me to use I can also do that. Prices vary.. Thank you.

Thweatt Things: I sew handmade items for personal use and for the home. Items include cloth masks, bowl cozies, aprons, clothing, and anything else I see that I want to try. I also do very basic alterations.

Quarter Spring Farm: We produce pasture-raised chicken, assorted selection of reusable napkins, goat’s milk soap, and eggs for sale. We are currently providing quartered chicken cuts, raw chicken feet and necks (great for natural dog treats!).

Quinn’s Mercantile: We enjoy having the Market on our porch each week. We carry several Tennessee made items in our Store and have a few items listed on the Market each week you can add to your cart. Locally Grown STT:  The Market is open!

Good Saturday Morning!

We hope you had a delicious week!

The market is now open for orders until Wednesday 5pm.

Reminder: you can now bring with you empty water bottles for recycling to the market pick up location during Market hours! We recommend setting up your official recycling bin at your home and office to now redirect some of these plastics away from our local landfill to now an official place to drop them off.

We would also like to add in an option to receive a Chicken Scraps Bucket set at the next pick up. This ideal for those who really hate throwing away food in the garbage. Some of our chickens would love to have your kitchen scraps. So rather than sending that to the Bovoni landfill, at the next pick up ask for a kitchen scraps bucket w/ lids set to take home with you, free of charge. We recommend only to start collecting scraps around Tuesday-Wednesday so it doesn’t build up on you before you can get it to us.
What do chickens eat: greens, veggies, fruits, many fruit skins, herbs, all mixed together is good.
What do they not eat
: potato peels, egg shells, plastic Dole stickers from bananas, citrus skins, bones, cooked food.

And here is the list of what is available from your local producers this week!

New on the market this week:
Wheatgrass… for the juicers out there.
What a treat to have access to some on island. it doesn’t ship well so you never see it in grocery stores but it is in a lot of health juices and pharmacies.

CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!

PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m.
