Lathemtown Farm Fresh Market:  Weblog Entry

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Christmas baking has begun here on the farm bakery! I have cutout kits for those who want to decorate, but not go through the effort of baking.
If you have an event and need something special, jus let me know. In the past I have done appetizer platters, side dishes and specialty pastries for Christmas parties. There are also baskets and Gift Certificates that make great gifts.
This week we will head over to Buckeye Creek to pick up freshly ground GRITS! There wasn’t a harvest last year so we are excited to see them again this year!!! I will add to the market once I pick them up.
The farmstand will get a Christmas update later this week and have Cookie Boxes available again.
Have a great week!
Farmher Chef Amy

Frontier Farms:  MARKET IS OPEN

Hope everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving, time to get back to eating healthy for a week or so.

Market will be open till noon on Tuesday

Middle Tennessee Locally Grown:  The Market Is Open for Ordering!

Middle Tennessee Locally Grown market

will be open for your orders till Tuesday evening at 10 pm.

The market is open for ordering this week. I saw only a couple of new items this week, although admittedly, I may have missed some. And I’m very busy this week and next, making Christmas kissing balls and wreaths. So I’m not going to make a “real” newsletter this week, but this notice will have to do. Please share it with a friend and invite them to become a customer and share in all this local farm goodness.

Please be sure to place your order before 10 pm on Tuesday. Our farmers and bakers must have a full day to prepare your orders for market. Should you forget to order, shoot me a message and I will ask for – but not guarantee – a late order.

Country Road Homestead will be off the market for a couple months, till the early spring crops begin to come in. We will miss them, but there are not many veggies that can be grown in the open fields during a Tennessee winter.

Meanwhile, several other farmers will have a selection of winter vegetables available. Frontier Family Farm will have some hydroponic items, and CS3 Farms, Solace Farm, Wayne Diller, Valley View Farm & Garden, and Altamont Mennonites will also offer some variety. It’s harder, but not impossible, to eat a portion of your vegetables from local sources in winter.

Foothills Market:  The Market is Open!

Foothills Market is back after a short break for Thanksgiving. We hope you all had a good holiday!

Looking for something to do with those turkey leftovers? How about a stir-fry with pac choi and celery? Or you might like to try a recipe like Turkey-Spaghetti Squash Bake. You could even go the traditional turkey sandwich route and dress it up with Bread-and-Butter Pickles, Cranberry-Apple Relish, and a bit of salad mix from the aquaponics house.

Maybe you are tired of turkey altogether! We’ve got a great selection of beef right now, including sale prices on cuts from Spicer Farms.

Browse the market between now and Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. We’ll have your order ready for pickup on Thursday.

Eat something fresh this week!
