Old99Farm Market: Old 99 Farm, week of Oct 8 2023
Veggie production is in good shape, new plantings of greens like arugula and lettuce are now offered. The root crops and fruits like tomatoes peppers and eggplants are plentiful.
Old99 Cider Day Sat Oct 14 2 to 5 pm.
Pls rsvp. Bring a bottle or jug to take home some fresh milled apple cider. BUT, the weather forecast is not good. If it is so that we’ll see 15 to 20 mm of rain that day, we’ll have to cancel. Watch for a notice from me Sat am.
The subscription plan “Let Me Be Your Farmer” is up and running. Pay in advance for 3 months purchases of veg, fruit, eggs, meats and anything you buy from Old99, and get 10% discount plus special surprises. Still order a la carte. The farm benefits from a more secure customer commitment and has cashflow to buy inputs like seed and nutrient. You get the choicest items for your basket, a la carte. Typically I’d expect $1500 to $2000 per quarter.
Sign up with an email to me. [email protected]

ps I saw some of you at the Beer and Blooms gathering at the Shed Brewery tonite. A packed house, someone said 150 people showed up to learn about Hamilton’s Biodiversity Action Plan. It set me to thinking how many ways we are contributing and supporting biodiversity here on the farm. My list so far: pollinator strips in gardens, untended fenceslines, crops left to bloom and die in place, asparagus patch a thicket, leaf piles, living mulches, the orchard grasses left long, woody debris piles, pond edges, tree nursery, many garden crops.
We could do more: flower plantings all season blooms, insect pollinator nesting sites, birdhouses, bat houses, planting specific native plants.
Fayetteville Farmers' Market: Chard, pickled items and lamb added!
If you have ordered, thank you! Note you can add new items to your order anytime. We collect them all together and only charge your card once.
Charlie’s Vegetables has added new pickled items! Small batches made from her locally grown vegies: dill pickles, chow chow, bread and butter pickles, green tomato pickles and more.
Sunrise chard has been added—beautiful and tasty too! There are still purple hull peas available as well as tomatoes and cukes, herbs and other vegies.
Lamb is a great fall meal choice—new items added include rack of lamb, half leg, shanks, boneless leg, loin chops and more. Grilling season goes far into the fall so consider lamb, beef, pork, chicken or other local meats for your grill.
And don’t forget fall apples and pears, and check out the other produce available.
Champaign, OH: Spooky
In the cool of the evenin’ when everything is gettin’ kind of groovy…
(Classics IV)
Another song for the season, and a reminder that the market will be closing, for the week, at 8am, this morning…
Don’t forget to get those orders in for another delightful, seasonal love fest with all of this local loveliness that we have to offer…
XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

The Power of Produce (POP) Club provides a fun opportunity for children to engage in the local food system through conversations directly with farmers, educational games and demonstrations, and exposure to new fruits and vegetables. In addition to participating in educational activities, POP Club kids receive POP Club tokens to spend at the market, allowing them to make their own shopping decisions at the market. This program is set-up for ages 3-12.
To participate in this year’s POP Club all you need to do is login to your Locally Grown account, add a “Pop Club Kids Day RSVP” for each participating child to your cart, and check out!
