Cajun-Style Blackened Snapper

Ingredients
2 tablespoons
Paprika
1 tablespoon
Salt
2 teaspoons
Onion powder
2 teaspoons
Garlic powder
2 teaspoons
Cayenne pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons
White pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons
Black pepper
1 teaspoon
Dried thyme
1 teaspoon
Dried oregano
4 6 ounce
Red snapper fillets
1 1/2 cups
Butter (melted)
Broccoli (as a side, if desired)
Asparagus (as a side, if desired)
Brussels Sprouts (as a side, if desired)
Rice (as a side, if desired)
Step by Step Instructions
- Mix all of the spices and herbs together in a bowl.
- Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat for 10 minutes. Dip the snapper fillets into the butter and generously sprinkle each side with spice mixture.
- Put the fillets into the skillet and pour 1 tablespoon of butter over each one.
- Cook the fillets for 3 to 5 minutes, turn them over and spoon 1 tablespoon of butter over each one again and cook them for 2 more minutes.
- Serve the snapper with rice and vegetables of choice.
