Martin's Farmstand:  Open for u-pick Saturday June 20

We are opening for u-pick strawberries tomorrow morning (Saturday June 20) starting at 7 AM. This heat is ripening them fast. Picking conditions will be very good with an estimated 2-3,000 lbs of berries ripe. This is an unusually quick start during a year that is unusual in many ways.

There are some changes to allow for better social distancing-* read this information all the way through.* During busy times there will be an outside express checkout option for berries that are being bought by volume.
Hours for u-pick are Monday starting at 7 AM; Wednesday, start 2 PM (no morning picking on Wednesdays); Saturday, start 7 AM. This repeats through out the whole season. The patch closes when the berries are all picked or at 6 PM.
When you arrive you do not need to stop at the stand to weigh your containers if you know the empty weight already. Also you do not need to stop if you are picking into standard Quart or gallon containers.
You have the option of bringing your own containers or buying empties from us.(Quart boxes 25 cents each or $20 per hundred. Gallon buckets$2.50 each.)
As you walk out to the patch you will be expected to walk on the right side of the field roads. Same when you are returning. We will do our best to spread groups apart in the field. I expect family/friend groups to stay together as much as is reasonable to allow for social distancing where it matters. NO DOGS in the field or stand areas.
Pricing (u-pick) $3.50 per Quart; $24 for 8 quart tray and $10 for 4 liquid quart buckets, water pitchers, bowls and other similar sized containers. All containers are expected to well filled but not heaped. We will adjust prices up or down as needed for over or under-filled containers. By the pound price is $2/# (limited to bigger containers or larger amounts); By using volume rather than weight when it makes sense we can bypass the stand for most of the berries and reduce congestion. Champaign, OH:  Hello, Old Friend

As I am strolling down the garden path,
I saw a flower glowing in the dark.
It looked so pretty and it was unique;
I had to bend down just to have a peek.
Hello old friend,
It’s really good to see you once again…
(Eric Clapton)

Well, hello there, lovely little local market of love vendors!! It’s been just a week, but feels like a lifetime, since we were last groovin’ together!!

I am back from my vacation week, all Cosmic products are back in play, and I had a lovely little time away with my daughter, wedding venue securing, and a general mental break!

But, now, I am back, I have missed you, and I am ready to greet all of your shiny faces, this week, with all of your orders…

It’s really good to see you, once again…

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

The Cumming Harvest - Closed:  Weblog Entry

Good morning everyone, We hope everyone is having a wonderful month of June. This nice warmer weather means more fruits and veggies are just around the corner.

We will continue to train our new interns this week, please remain patient when picking up your order, the interns are still learning the process.

We have seen an influx of people not picking up their order after they have ordered online, we want to send a gentle reminder that you must pick up your items the week you order them. We do not have room to hold from week to week. If you are unable to pick up your order because something happens, because we do understand that situations happen, you need to send a text to the market manager, or email the market manager at the email below. Sending an email to the Cumming harvest email will not be sent to the market manager in enough time to fix the situation. If this continues we will have to start charging people a hold fee, we do not want to do this. We like to keep our prices low for everyone. If you have any questions regarding this please reach out to Jaclyn.
As a reminder, we will continue with the social distance, the glass door will remain closed, so that you were able to look in and see if another client is present inside the market. Please remain outside if a current client is inside the market, you may come in as soon as they exit. As most people are aware our space is very small, so we are doing our best to keep the social distancing.

As always any questions please reach out to the market manager.

Please remember the market opens Saturday at ten am and closes at noon sharp.

Remember, all proceeds go to support the feeding of hungry children through Meals by Grace.
Thank you, happy shopping!
