There’s still plenty to choose from, too! A quick scan of the market listings shows that we still have the following items (among others) available:

- Squash (Yellow, Zucchini, and Patty Pan)
- Onions and Turnips
- Sweet things (honey, jams, brownies, and fudge)
You can build a menu with that! Place your order by 5:00 p.m. today and we’ll have it ready for pick-up Thursday between 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Duluth Cottage Kitchen: week 26/2020
while the whole world goes crazy my garden stays the same peaceful place
the worst thing happening is the neighbor’s kudzu trying to secure a spot,
browntop and mulberry weed wanting to take over my vegetable beds
and it only seems to have thunderstorms when I pick blueberries ;)
words of the week:
cucumber & blueberry
both ripen in abundance
when all excited about all the fresh produce I tend to forget my
jams, jellies, spices, dehydrated herbs and veggies in my market
have a wonderful week and see you soon,
maybe next Saturday, June 27th, 8-12 at Suwanee Farmers Market,
your humble gardener
Eva
The Cumming Harvest - Closed: Last week of June
Good morning everyone, We hope everyone is having a wonderful month of June. This nice warmer weather means more fruits and veggies are just around the corner.
We will continue to train our new interns this week, please remain patient when picking up your order, the interns are still learning the process.
We have seen an influx of people not picking up their order after they have ordered online, we want to send a gentle reminder that you must pick up your items the week you order them. We do not have room to hold from week to week. If you are unable to pick up your order because something happens, because we do understand that situations happen, you need to send a text to the market manager, or email the market manager at the email below. Sending an email to the Cumming harvest email will not be sent to the market manager in enough time to fix the situation. If this continues we will have to start charging people a hold fee, we do not want to do this. We like to keep our prices low for everyone. If you have any questions regarding this please reach out to Jaclyn.
As a reminder, we will continue with the social distance, the glass door will remain closed, so that you were able to look in and see if another client is present inside the market. Please remain outside if a current client is inside the market, you may come in as soon as they exit. As most people are aware our space is very small, so we are doing our best to keep the social distancing.
As always any questions please reach out to the market manager.
Please remember the market opens Saturday at ten am and closes at noon sharp.
Remember, all proceeds go to support the feeding of hungry children through Meals by Grace.
Thank you, happy shopping!

Martin's Farmstand: U-pick update for Wednesday June 24
We are opening for u-pick strawberries tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday June 24) starting at 2 PM. NO MORNING PICKING ON WEDNESDAY! Picking conditions are good with an estimated 3,000+ lbs of berries ripe. It looks to me like this is likely to be the peak picking for this season. The size is already dropping off though. There are still a good amount of green berries left; the season should last for another 10 days or so before gleaning but the question of how these later berries will size up is still open. We need rain. Irrigation helps a lot but is not the same as a rainy day.
Hours for u-pick are Monday starting at 7 AM; Wednesday, start 2 PM (no morning picking on Wednesdays); Saturday, start 7 AM. This repeats through out the whole season. The patch closes when the berries are all picked or at 6 PM.
When you arrive you do not need to stop at the stand to weigh your containers if you know the empty weight already. Also you do not need to stop if you are picking into standard Quart or gallon containers.
You have the option of bringing your own containers or buying empties from us.(Quart boxes 25 cents each or $20 per hundred. Gallon buckets$2.50 each.)
As you walk out to the patch you will be expected to walk on the right side of the field roads. Same when you are returning. We will do our best to spread groups apart in the field. I expect family/friend groups to stay together as much as is reasonable to allow for social distancing where it matters. NO DOGS in the field or stand areas.
Pricing (u-pick) $3.50 per Quart; $24 for 8 quart tray and $10 for 4 liquid quart buckets, water pitchers, bowls and other similar sized containers. All containers are expected to well filled but not heaped. We will adjust prices up or down as needed for over or under-filled containers. By the pound price is $2/# (limited to bigger containers or larger amounts); By using volume rather than weight when it makes sense we can bypass the stand for most of the berries and reduce congestion. Market News
Welcome to Summer! With the passing of the Summer Equinox, our market is seeing the first tomatoes – green for pickling, relishes, and fried green tomatoes, and yellow cherries and purple slicers for salads and sandwiches. We’re excited about all the summer produce, and we’re looking forward to sharing it with you.
Please remember as you order that per the POA’s instructions, we cannot leave your food unattended. If you need us to deliver to your neighbor or slip your order inside your house, please be sure to tell us in the comments so we can make sure your order gets to you safely!
If you have other suggestion about how we can continue to make deliveries without being able to leave products unattended, we’d love to hear them. We’re still developing the best ways to get your orders to you, and we welcome any of your ideas.
As always, if you enjoy being a member of Big Canoe Harvest, tell your friends! The more the market grows, the more additional vendors and products we’ll be able to include. As always, your feedback help shapes the market. Let us know what you think about the Big Canoe Harvest products.
Have a wonderful week, and we’ll see you Saturday!
Whitney and Eddy

Statesboro Market2Go: Order Before Midnight!
Remember to place your Market2Go order before midnight tonight.
We are back at the Statesboro Convention and Visitors Bureau (Visit Statesboro) at 222 South Main Street. All pickups are on Thursday afternoon. Sylvania pickups will still be across from the Victory Garden General Store and Home deliveries will continue as they’ve been.
There’s a mighty monstrous rattlesnake watermelon (an heirloom variety of watermelon) up for grabs from the garden of Ma’s Country Pantry, but you’ll need to act quickly to claim this mighty beast as there is only one left on the market. For a small fee they’ll draw a rattlesnake face on it as well.
For those of you who are craving the taste of some summer watermelon but are a bit less inclined to wrestle the actual massive melons we’ve got right now, be not afraid, J.R.’s Unique Jelly & Jam is offering watermelon jelly made from fruits of local gowers. As with all of his products, this jelly is made in small batches to ensure the highest possible quality.
We’re also thrilled to announce our newest vendor, Big Boy Cookies! Don’t miss your chance to show them some love this week by treating yourself to some of their delicious fresh cookies!
Thank you for supporting your local farmers and vendors!
