The Market is now open for ordering. We’ve finally uploaded some of our other produce so you can order our beets, eggplant, patty pan summer squash, eggs, etc. I might be adding some quantities throughout the week when I have a better idea what we’ll have! And the tomatoes are coming soon!!!

Growing Together :  Offerings for July 11th

Summer veggies are flooding in!! We’ve got beans galore, bundles of basil, squash and zucchini, eggplant, okra, and a few spring hold outs like kale and cilantro!! Chandra has russet potatoes ready which are perfect french fries or baked potatoes! Most exciting of all, tomatoes are coming!! Check out all of this and more at our online market (link below).

Old99Farm Market:  Week of July 5 2020

Hello all you amazing farm supporting people! Thank you so much for your continued support at the farm and for choosing to eat healthy locally raised meat and produce.
We’ve had some really high temps the last week and continuing into this week, so please remember to stay hydrated.
We have lots of pasture-raised chicken pork and beef available for the BBQ or smoker. Don’t forget to order meat when you place your order for vegetables.
Eggs are in abundance now, the hens are happy on pasture and laying very well, don’t forget to order your eggs with your veggie and meat selections. Also, when you buy 5 dozen eggs you get one free! That’s a heck of a deal for organic pasture raised eggs my friends!
There is a good selection of fresh greens available this week including cabbage and collard leaves. Cabbage and collard leaves make a great gluten free substitute for crispy and delicious wraps. Quick and easy to make for work or play to keep you fueld for your day.

Order cut off time has been changed to 5 p.m. Wednesday. Order pick-up is still Thursdays and Fridays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. please text or call Nick at 519-755-0577 do you have any questions or are unable to pick up Thursday or Friday and need to schedule a different pick up time.

The Online Falls Park Farmer’s Market is open again this week. We have over 600 products online this week for your first look.

Champaign, OH:  Bat Box Information!

As noted on the website of Bat Conservation International, bats are: important, threatened, misunderstood, and everywhere in the world. In this area, the most common species are known as the little brown bat and the big brown bat. Their importance lies in their consumption of flying insects like the mosquito, and their pollination of fruit trees. And they are fascinating creatures as well, being the only mammals capable of sustained flight. We don’t want them in our houses or attics, so give them homes of their own by putting up bat boxes.

The bat boxes sold by Oberly Bros Farm on the Virtual Market are constructed of Western Cedar, and based on a design recommended by the Ohio Division of Wildlife. One side a cedar board is rough (unsanded), and that side faces inward to provide a surface on which bats can easily cling, and cedar excels for outdoor weather-ability. To provide a dark exterior color for heat absorption, and even better outdoor longevity, the exterior surfaces of our bat boxes are coated with a rubber-based black spray sealant. A picture of a mounted bat box is featured on the Virtual Market website.

The bat boxes hang easily on utility poles or on the side of a building. According to the Division of Wildlife, bat boxes should be mounted 12-15 feet above ground where they will receive at least morning sun. The following links contain useful background and information.

Yalaha, FL:  Last day for buy in orders

I am Still taking Pre orders Until Monday Evening, picking up Tuesday July 7th.

Milk is available, we pick up Wed so if you want some I need to know by Tuesday.

Summer time brings weather not conducive to growing much here, So I am trying out throwing together anything edible (including edible weeds) and salad like into a mix and calling it Wild Summer Mix – Cut Salad Mix

Basil Plants available. Lots of Basil available actually, it is a good time to make Pesto.

We have lots of Shoots and microgreens available this week.

If you want to place and order and pick up before the standard window, just let me know.

Order now through 7 am Friday July 10th for Sat July 11th Pickup, or tell me when you want to pick up, we usually have flexibility, especially if you order buy in products or milk or just want to pick up during the week.

We Are Flexible, TELL ME if you want to make special arrangements for produce, I am open and willing especially now. I just need to know the day before so I can harvest anything that needs early morning handling and I like to know when to expect people to show up.

Remember to tell me when you want to pick up! (and if I don’t reply to confirm within a day, bump my e-mail or text me 407-342-8515. Though I have cleaned up my e-mail so hopefully I won’t Miss Anyone.)
