The Cumming Harvest - Closed:  July is here!

Good morning everyone, We hope everyone had an amazing and safe Fourth of July. Here are the announcements for this week: We have had too many people leave their products every week, so we will be charging the five dollar holding fee. This fee will be charged if you place an order, and do not cancel before Thursday at 8 PM. We cannot continue to hold orders, every single week for clients. We would love to be able to, however we simply just do not have the space. Also, please remember that the market closes at 12 noon sharp on Saturday. We have had a lot of clients trying to show up after 12, and we need to be respectful of the volunteers time. Starting this week if you pick up after 12, and have not communicated to the market manager that you are running late, we will be charging a five dollar service fee. We understand things happen, so if something pops up please alert the market manager as soon as possible. As always if there are any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out.

Market News

While this may be one of the stranger summers (a high of 79 in July?!), our market is full of delicious summer produce. We have a variety of tomatoes, squashes, and eggplant – everything you need for a summer ratatouille – and enough lettuces, microgreens, and crisp veggies for a perfect salad. If there is produce you want that you can’t find in our market, let us know! We’ll do our best to source it locally and bring it to you as soon as it’s ready.
If you haven’t seen the article about our market in this month’s Smoke Signals, be sure to check it out! We’re so happy to be a part of such a special community as Big Canoe.
Please remember as you order that per the POA’s instructions, we cannot leave your food unattended. If you need us to deliver to your neighbor or slip your order inside your house, please be sure to tell us in the comments so we can make sure your order gets to you safely!
If you have other suggestion about how we can continue to make deliveries without being able to leave products unattended, we’d love to hear them. We’re still developing the best ways to get your orders to you, and we welcome any of your ideas.
As always, if you enjoy being a member of Big Canoe Harvest, tell your friends! The more the market grows, the more additional vendors and products we’ll be able to include. As always, your feedback help shapes the market. Let us know what you think about the Big Canoe Harvest products.
Have a wonderful week, and we’ll see you Saturday!
Whitney and Eddy

We thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible!

Statesboro Market2Go:  Order Before Midnight!

Market2Go is pleased to announce some new products this week!

In produce, we’ve got some fabulous figs from Ma’s Country Pantry, a new robust radish mixture from Better Fresh Farms that contains three different varieties, and plenty of peaches from both Jacobs Produce and Ogeechee Peaches that are perfect for cobblers and canning! Plus, there’s still one rattlesnake watermelon up for grabs, and though it may be a bit smaller than the ones before it, it’s just as flavorful as any giant!

After you’ve had your fruits and veggies, check out the banana cakewitch that’s new from 4 & 20 bakers – that’s cream cheese icing sandwiched between banana cake slices. They come in a set of two, but it’s okay if you don’t feel like sharing, we promise we won’t tell! :)

Check out the new recipes – one for a Fig & Honey Smoothie, as well as this recipe for Georgia Shrimp and Radish Salad.

Place your order before midnight for pickup on Thursday.

Thank you for supporting your local farmers and vendors!
