Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!

Champaign, OH:  And She Was

The world was moving she was right there with it and she was…
The world was moving she was floating above it and she was…
And she was…
(And She Was-Talking Heads)

Cue up the 1985 club scene!! Lately, I have been revisiting my time spent in the 1980’s. There was a very specific time frame, when I spent a whole lot of my time in the new wave club scene, groovin’ to the tunes of bands like The Talking Heads.

This song was always such a fun, danceable, floaty kind of song, and, for right now, in this very time of my life, the lyrics that I have chosen are summing up my life. I feel like with all of my business changes, and my decision to stay on as your market manager, have all been the spot on, totally right, on point decisions to be made.

With all of the changes, I have introduced all kinds of new avenues, new adventures, new business, and new followings. I feel, well, like I am floating around, and having the time of my life. Like all the links are falling into place. I am finally letting myself be me, again. Not trying to be anything that isn’t me.

Just like this market…it floats, happily along, happy, vibrant, not trying to be a grocery store, not trying to be a big box retailer, not trying to offer things that come to us from all over the world.

Our market floats along because of it’s happiness and popularity from being nothing but within our community, or very close to our community. We are proud of how we operate, we are proud of our vendors, our market, our mission…

Each week, I open the market with such excitement, such passion for what will transpire for that week.

Being your market manager allows me to watch the sales, the interactions between vendors and customers, and it allows me to be a part of this food movement, that I am so passionate about.

The world was moving, she was right there with it, and she was…

The market continues to move and groove, and I am right there with it…

I open the market, tonight, for the week. Grab your list, sit down, this weekend, and place your orders, so you can jump on this market groove, this market world, and be right there with it…

All the cool kids love shopping this market, they are right there with it…

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

Miami County Locally Grown:  When you need a little help from your friends...

What better way for three guys to spend a federal holiday, than taking half their day to pick-up and deliver the virtual market’s new fridge and freezer?

And what an adventure for Craig Hughes, of Tin Roof Mobile Food, Kenny Adams of Adams Greenhouse, and Lee, my trusty hubby over at our End of the Road Farm!

I wouldn’t blame them if the next time I call for volunteers they run and hide… how is it always that an “easy” job so quickly turns into a fiasco?

Of course the fridge wouldn’t fit through the door! No problem, they just wiggled it, with an 1/8th of an inch to spare on either side, through a different door… only to find themselves locked within the kiddie playground!

The way they managed to get it through the gate was unique, but at long last they made it to First Place, where after another almost impossible squeeze, the appliances were in place.

And once Craig and Lee had the fun of making them showroom-ready last night, the appliances are now just waiting to be filled with all sorts of local goodies!

I couldn’t be more grateful to work with such a great group of people – read their stories on their profiles, check out their pictures, and visit their businesses – you’ll be glad to get to know them!
